Given that most of us here can do pretty much any song we please if we want to put the work into it, I can’t see anything that would make me want to purchase a new Rock Band game and new peripherals (most likely). And I’m a huge supporter. I spent over $3,000 on DLC, instruments and games and was in since day 1 on November 20th 2007, and again I can’t see anything that would make me want to spend money, I can’t think of any innovations that they could bring to the table.
Very true but I’m certain Harmonix would try to improve every instrument. Maybe figure out how to have harmonies online for vocals, drums would have actual open and closed hi hat charting with double bass charting included in one file like Guitar Hero did, the ability to use any electric guitar(like Rocksmith), no more 2952 song limit for the library, competitve modes like score duel added back to the game, a much better tour mode like what we saw with RB2, the list goes on. RB4 needs to happen eventually with backwards compatibility for most of the legacy DLC plus have new and improve gameplay with new content moving forward. Its still way too early for a new game to come out. I’m thinking fall of 2015 or 2016 the earliest.
I don’t see any point in them blowing a ton of money if the market isn’t showing an increased desire to play rhythm games. It’s sad not seeing official DLC or new instruments, and I know they care about music and music games, but I don’t see any point in trying to shift everything to newer consoles unless the people using them are playing something other than higher-def ports and 420 blaze it up noscopes. They’re taking risks on musicshooters and Fantasias, and I hope they strike oil on something, but I’d see it happening on PC rather than PaidAdbox or PS4.
Pipe dreams are cute and all, I’m perfectly content sticking with the customs and last-gen for now. Next-gen Rock Band could look impressive, but sadly the music industry is less about potentially selling a few hundred albums for smaller artists, and more about making fat wallets/purses fatter. Correct me if I’m wrong though.
i dunno. rock band has always been near and dear to my heart as far as video games go. i would be the odd one out apparently, but if i had a ps4 i would absolutely drop money for RB4. i know we have customs and all, but i’ll gladly take an official game any day if it’s what harmonix truly believes in. judging by their passion for music and music gaming, i don’t doubt it is what they believe in.
