Hi

I’ve been charting songs since 2007 since the days of guitar zero. then i moved on to fofix and then started strictly doing drum charts. took a break for awhile and found phase shift. thats when i decided to redo all my songs and start charting guitar bass and drums wanted a more complete custom. and been on and off ever since. since finding c3 i’ve found new motivation to keep charting and hoping my customs are up to c3 quality and expectations.

This is a pretty good first effort for a full band, aimed at a C3 level release. Drums may be slightly overcharted on snares but it may just be me. Bass looks fine. Guitar suffers from a bit too much copypasting, there are sections in which you can hear strums but you just went with sustains because the section you copied the note from had sustains, but nothing major. Both guitar and bass suffer from too hard reductions (easy looks more like medium) and too long sustains, both on Expert (you need at least a 1/16th space) and on lower difficulties (sustains need to be pulled back according to difficulty), but fixing sustains is usually as easy as a one click action with CAT.

Vocals are not there yet. Pitches are mostly fine but timing is unfortunately really off. You start your notes too early: I moved all notes up 1/32nd (which in terms of gameplay is A LOT, I even found notes off by 1/8th) and they are still a bit off. Cut off any hard consonant sound, you only want to start your tube when the vowel sound starts, as a general rule. And you need to end your notes earlier. Also, you are missing plenty of slides: as one single example, check “live” in “alive”, first phrase. That note needs to slide up at the beginning and trail off at the end, while you authored it as a straight tube. I’m attaching a fixed version with the first measures touched up for reference (done very quickly, don’t consider this the gold standard of vocals authoring). It takes time to go from your version to an accurate version, so make sure you’ve got it in you before you dive in because it’s gonna be demanding. You’re also missing harmonies but you probably already knew that.

Absolutely good first effort, but vocals will require a much longer production time on your part.

thank you for the feedback. i think the snares are ghost notes. if you crank the song and slow it down you can clearly hear them but unless the song is really loud youd never even hear them so.. maybe just leave em out??

as for the guitar are you talking about the section around 2:30 where it has the gry chord followed by strums repeated? as far as lower diff i guess ill have to work on that some more along with sustain lengths.

now vocals is where i suffer tbh i grasp the general idea but execution is hard lol and yea no harmonies cause i quite dont understand them. i guess i may have to get a vocal charter involved on my charts

      thanks for your time

I don’t remember exactly the section but it’s nothing that a single pass focusing on guitar only won’t fix, so it’s not a concern.
