What kind of magic spell to use? ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Thank you for the capital mention. You are selling your own work short though: I hardly did anything.
What I will definitely do is tackle those darn harmonies at the end of the song after I finish up some other pressing and Burning things.Big thanks for charting it! Didn’t really know the song but it grew on me instantly.

Marvin Hamlisch, baby!
October 6, 2016 at 7:21 pm #475890Marvin Hamlisch, baby!
Seriously?!?……30+ (could be 40) years later, and ONLY NOW I find this out?!!!
Holy cow, I always thought that Carly Simon penned this tune herself or at best, collaborated with the likes of Carol Bayer Sager or Burt Bacharach to come up with a gem like this for the movie project…..But Marvin Hamlisch!….Whoa!
NO WONDER the theme’s as tasty as a Hamlisch sandwich, (sorry, bad pun intended)…. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
So samjjones…..what other tidbits of Rock N’ Roll trivia ya got goin’ on in that deviously Mad Brain from Jersey?
And thanks Jimi369 for your time and effort in making this happen too!
October 7, 2016 at 2:47 am #475913The whole soundtrack to the movie is fantastic, but this is my favorite piece from the movie that Hamlisch did.
October 7, 2016 at 5:01 am #475922Oh yeah!!!!…..That is beautiful!…..I’m thinking I’m gonna hafta bust out the Bond DVDs and give ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ another good watching and LISTENING now. Come to think of it, it’s been awhile, so maybe it’s time to binge watch all the Bond movies again! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
October 7, 2016 at 5:42 am #475927Another one hot off the presses!
Rita Coolidge – All Time High | From Octopussy
From 1983’s Octopussy, the oft-forgotten All Time High by Rita Coolidge.
Certainly not remembered as the greatest Bond theme, but I have a soft spot for it and this one does suit Rock Band pretty well.
Rita’s vocals aren’t anything too intense. The midi I took them from was really well done and everything seems to be in order.
Guitar is where it’s at. Some of it is sax, some piano, and some actual guitar. I think it all blends together pretty well in my chart.
Drums are solid too. Some nice fills in there to keep things interesting.
Bass is also included at no extra cost.
Hooray I did a Bond theme all by myself!
October 7, 2016 at 5:57 am #475930Just about ready to log out for the night and what do I see? Funky D loads up another Bond song just before I’m ready to leave.
Thank you for this one too, Bud! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
October 7, 2016 at 6:01 am #475931Really great material. Can’t thank enough for more Bond songs. The high can’t subside.

To keep with the Bond theme theme, I am releasing Chris Cornell’s You Know My Name from 2006’s Casino Royale. Now this was originally mrmet2087‘s custom a few years back, but I went through it and made a number of changes.
The guitar has received a big overhaul. Now I’m not saying my chart is better than mrmet‘s, I just charted it to what I thought should be played. I would say a solid 75% of it is different. My chart is more guitar chord-heavy, whereas his included more orchestral stuff.
The drums are changed a bit too. I added in a lot of ride cymbals that weren’t charted originally. I also re-did the lower difficulties, as I thought hard especially was more difficult than it should have been.
I left bass the way it was, as well as vocals. mrmet did a fantastic job charting the vocals I must say.
I also added in a keys part. It mostly plays the second most prominent part beside what is charted to guitar. A lot of strings, a lot of backing guitar.
I left the practice sections and venue untouched as it seemed mrmet really put effort into those.
The song audio is changed. I thought the original track was far too quiet. I don’t know if that was intentional or not, but my track is on par with the volume of most tracks.
And again, thank you mrmet for originally charting this, and your other bond tracks. It inspired me to do my own.

October 17, 2016 at 1:00 am #4764273 headshots in a row? You sir, are definitely licensed to kill!
Thank you! I’m making a 007 setlist now. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />October 18, 2016 at 8:18 pm #476526Looks good. Thanks for cleaning it up. Other Bond Songs can be found in my thread in my signature if anyone wants more.
Also for future reference I didnt put anytime into practice sections or venue so if that’s something you wanna clean up or care about, it’s pretty barebones just to pass magma lol
April 6, 2017 at 6:27 pm #483666New release!
Courtney Barnett – Pedestrian at Best
This one’s been sitting in my ‘in progress’ folder for many months, and I finally went ahead and finished it up. Vocals are not pitched.
