Now featuring harmonies thanks to ShadowMaurix. Also for shits and giggles, I added a keys track. I copied and pasted the vocal tubes over and made them into 5 lanes, then spruced them up a little. Sort of like how RB: Blitz was. I figured it would be more fun for big RB parties to have an extra person able to play along. Enjoy.

Thanks, and welcome back FunkyD!
August 11, 2016 at 4:37 pm #473233OH SHIT I MADE A NEW SONG!
Oasis – D’You Know What I Mean? (NG’s 2016 Rethink)
A long time back I said that there were plans for a Be Here Now remaster, and that I would hold off from doing any more from that album until then. It’s a very “loud” album with way too much going on in a drug-induced mix that made it almost impossible to chart properly.
Recently Noel Gallagher went back into the studio with the master tracks, intending to clean up the entire album. However after doing just one track, he felt that he should leave them the way they were as a time capsule to that era. But the one track he did is here now. D’You Know is the lead track from the album, and Noel completely revitalized the mix. The bass is actually audible. You can hear guitar parts previously buried. The strings are much more prevalent. Noel’s backing harmonies are a nice touch too.
For me, the difficulty of authoring this song went from an 8 to about a 3. Sadly he has no current plans to touch the rest of the album, but this release has gained an extremely positive response from the fans, so maybe he’ll reconsider.
Anywho, this is my first new custom of 2016. I hope I haven’t ‘lost it’. I spent a lot of time on this one, and I hope you enjoy it.
August 11, 2016 at 5:05 pm #473236Many thanks Funky D,
for this one and a heck of alot of others (too many to count on BOTH hands, I might add) I’ve enjoyed from you in the past.
The way I see it, you’re another one of the “Heavyweights” around here! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Awesome stuff, thanks alot! Really wish he would revisit the whole album and make it sound as awesome as that, would really awake this old beast…
August 12, 2016 at 8:23 pm #473293The main Oasis song I wanted! Thank you so much Funky!! Can’t wait to put this in the setlist for this Saturdays rock out!
August 21, 2016 at 6:02 pm #473667Could we hope you are going to do some more great stuff ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” /> Thanks for all the great work you’ve done nun the less
September 26, 2016 at 8:01 pm #475394This is a bit of a weird one, but I edited the censored words back into You Oughta Know.
Now included are;
“Would she go down on you in a theatre” & “Are you thinking of me when you fuck her?”
Nothing fancy was done. I simply took the naughty words from an MP3 and synched up the vocals track with it. It’s not perfect, but it gets the job done. I don’t think this violates any site rules because this song isn’t for sale anymore since the RB2 export has long expired.

Hot Dawg!…..’Heady’ innuendo and dropping the ‘F’ bomb!
As one brutha in funk to another, I applaud your sensibility to demonstrate and exercise our first amendment rights. I’m not sure if it violates any site rules either, but I’m grabbing it while I can. Thanks, Funky D! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

A long overdue James Bond theme. From 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me. Arguably Carly Simon’s biggest hit.
As for the charts, guitar consists of about 30% guitar, 45% piano, 30% strings, and 5% horns. I went for “funability” rather than keeping it by the book.
Bass is pretty simple.
Drums are pretty fun and have some fills of varying difficulties to keep you entertained. Not boring like some of the other Bond themes have been.
The keys chart is basically “rhythm piano”. It’s not perfect by any means. Most of it was copied from the original midi file I used. It’s a lot of 3 note chords. Mostly something to keep as many people involved as possible.
And last but not least, the vocals were saved from being mediocre by
Jimi369.
He graciously offered to help me on this, and I am forever grateful to him. He gave the vocal charts the accuracy they would deserve for a song like this. Thank you Jimi. There’s some kind of magic inside you.
October 6, 2016 at 12:15 am #475856Awesome! I love Seymour Goldfarb, Jr.!!!
October 6, 2016 at 12:16 am #475857Arguably Carly Simon’s biggest hit.
I have the midi for her arguably other biggest hit.
October 6, 2016 at 12:25 am #475859Excellent release Funky. Another great bond title song in the game.
October 6, 2016 at 1:33 am #475861I wasn’t looking,
but somehow it found me……
Thanks for this great song! Now that samjjones mentions it, there are a few other Carly Simon songs that would be great to see.
