more songs for the ladies please?
hello guys!
i would like to commend you all for the nice stuff you are doing here at c3.
my wife enjoys playing rb3 with me & my daughters. she does the vocals whenever there’s a song that she fancies. however, she noticed that most songs i have (original DLC’s & custom songs) are mostly male dominated.
she digs songs from the b-52’s, alanis morrisette, blondie, p!nk, and madonna.
i hope you can release more songs (or at least allocate some custom slots) for all the ladies out there in the future.
thank you and more power to all!
March 17, 2015 at 11:23 am #440832I would think picking specific songs and declaring them to be “songs for the ladies” would be awfully sexist of C3, considering the ladies can and do enjoy all kinds of music.
That being said, I think C3 has done a pretty good job at representing female singers in the releases.
March 17, 2015 at 11:42 am #440838no offense meant, none taken too.
sometimes male songs can be sometimes be awkward or hard for the females. just my humble opinion.
March 17, 2015 at 1:23 pm #440844Like Nemo said, there is quite a bit of great female vocal content in the C3 catalog. I’m more of a fan of female singers than male singers (that doesn’t mean I don’t like male singers) and I’ve released a fair bit of female vocal stuff. If you’re interested, I’ve done ABBA, Norah Jones, Shakira, etc if you’re into that kinda stuff. But do search around, there’s a lot of great female fronted stuff!
March 17, 2015 at 4:25 pm #440863Wrong subforum, this should go in the Song Request subforum
Either way from your requests I take it you might not know about all the female fronted stuff in the C3 database, so in case you might have missed something try clicking the “Advanced Search/Filter” button in the database and search for songs with a female vocalist. Might find some cool stuff you might potentially have overlooked, or discover new cool stuff you never heard before if you give it a chance. There is also some bands with female backing/support/duet vocals like Cradle of Filth, Filtered By The Sky and Kanye West ft. Syleena Johnson which doesn’t pop up there when adding that search filter though due to the lead vocalist technically being male, but yeah
Though yeah, always fun with more female fronted bands, so 1+ even if I agree with Trojan that vocalist gender isn’t a decider about who the song can appeal to
March 17, 2015 at 4:54 pm #440865There’s a couple of half-decent full band P!nk tunes right here if you missed them. Also two other female-lead customs missing only drums: Sneaker Pimps “6 Underground” and Jefferson Starship’s “Stranger”.
March 17, 2015 at 4:55 pm #440866Yeah, I was kinda waiting to see if this got moved before I added my two cents ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> I suppose my post will migrate along with it though.
For the record, I am a huge supporter of female fronted songs, and am happy that C3 has put out a decent amount.
That said I do feel the need for a bit more branching out. Off the top of my head here are 5 female fronted artists that could use more representation:
The Pretenders
Heart
Halestorm
The Sounds
The Donnas
That’s just my feeling on the matter.

Heart has so many songs that would be awesome on Rock Band (Kick It Out, If Looks Could Kill, and White Lightning and Wine all come to mind immediately, but there are so many more), along with Halestorm (their cover albums are amazing). I’m also waiting for the day when “Back on the Chain Gang” by The Pretenders, one of my favorite songs ever, gets its rightful place in RB
March 17, 2015 at 6:46 pm #440871Don’t forget to look under the “other Customs” thread as well. although they might not be C3 quality they are still fun to play. In my thread alone there are 11 songs sung by a lady.
March 20, 2015 at 4:11 am #441034I’d like it if they took more advantage of the duet vocals so us girls can swing along with our men. “Strangers” was nice, but we could use more.
Human League – Human
Prince – 1999
Eddie Money – Take Me Home Tonight
Grease – Summer Nights
Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell – Ain’t no Mountain High Enough As mentioned, already available
etc.
March 20, 2015 at 5:54 am #441039He says it’s for the ladies at the beginning, so it must be relevant here:

We can’t stress enough that if you request a song that we already released it says a lot about how much you actually want to play the song versus how much you just like the song and you want to mention it.
This is true for anybody for any request: if you want a song in the game the first thing is to check if the song is already available…

+5 for Take Me Home Tonight. That would be fantastic. Human would be great, too.
If we get any Prince song, I hope it’s Kiss*
*Just kidding, Farottone. When Doves Cry.
March 29, 2015 at 10:03 pm #441643since this thread / post was moved here by the admins, i’m keeping my fingers crossed that some songs may find a custom release someday, i would like to suggest the following songs / bands too (i’m sorry if i will mention some songs that are official DLC’s – since my source could be outdated or incomplete):
1) Til Tuesday – Voices Carry
2) The Pretenders – Middle of The Road / Back in the Chain Gang
3) The Motels – Remember the Night
4) Blondie / Deborah Harry – The Tide is High / Dreaming / Maria
5) The B-52’s (more of them please) – Private Idaho
6) Cranberries – Dreams / Ode To my Family
7) Heart – These Dreams
