October 27, 2014 at 3:14 pm #431728I’m just gonna mention Jackie Chan and F1 Circus 91 for the PC Engine GT because they were just perfect and on the most amazing console ever developed. Pound for pound it’s hard to imagine anything like that being developed again. It would have been like Nintendo releasing a portable version of the SNES identical to the original instead of the Gameboy.

Best TV console was Game Gear… until we moved to digital..
October 27, 2014 at 5:42 pm #431734I’m only going to count consoles and games I’ve played. Also, PC is a really tough choice, since I’m relatively new to PC gaming.
NES: Kirby’s Adventure (First game I ever beat as a kid, holds a special place just due to nostalgia)
SNES: Super Mario World
Nintendo 64: Super Smash Bros.
Gamecube: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Sega Genesis: Golden Axe
Playstation: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3
Xbox 360: Rock Band 3
Gameboy: Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
Gameboy Color: Pokemon Crystal
GBA: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
PC: Dust: An Elysian Tail, Limbo, Portal 2, Super Meat Boy
October 27, 2014 at 9:25 pm #431748In the interest of making this really hard, I’m going to stick to one per console, except for the PC, because the PC is too broad a brushstroke. I will stick to one per 5 years since I started playing PC games, though. Ordered roughly by system release year, except for PC. Also, remakes/bundled ports not on the list.
Atari 2600: Solaris
Atari 5200: Keystone Kapers
NES: Dragon Warrior IV
Sega Master System: Phantasy Star
TG-16: Neutopia II (great Zelda-style game)
Sega Genesis: Shining Force II
Super Nintendo: Chrono Trigger
NeoGeo: Baseball Stars II
Sega CD: Lunar: Eternal Blue (Silver Star I enjoyed on PSX, but never played here.)
Atari Jaguar: Tempest 2000 (Jaguar sucked)
3DO Interactive Multiplayer: Star Control II
NeoGeo CD: Samurai Showdown RPG (I didn’t like much on this system)
Sega 32X: Virtua Fighter (would be T-MEK but the home port sucked)
Sega Saturn: Panzer Dragoon (would love to get Panzer Dragoon Saga!)
Sony PlayStation: Suikoden II
Nintendo 64: Snowboard Kids
Sega Dreamcast: Soul Calibur (HM to Skies of Arcadia, which is a contender on this and my GC list)
PlayStation 2: Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (tough to call)
Nintendo GameCube: Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Xbox: Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
Xbox 360: Rock Band 3
Wii: Xenoblade (console has a criminally underrated library btw)
PlayStation 3: Valkyria Chronicles (so far), though I understand I will love Dragon’s Dogma
WiiU: Hyrule Warriors
Game Boy: Pokemon Blue
Atari Lynx: I’m opting out because I’ve played 3 Lynx games and didn’t enjoy any of them
Game Gear: Columns (it hasn’t held up)
Game Boy Color: Kirby Tilt ‘n’ Tumble
Neo Geo Pocket Color: Baseball Stars (by virtue of being the only game I have had a chance to play)
Wonderswan Color: Had a chance to play the FF remakes, but I don’t count them, so I can’t name an original.
Game Boy Advance: Golden Sun
Nintendo DS: Picross 3D (I have a big DS library that I have barely touched)
PlayStation Portable: Jeanne d’Arc (I have a ton of remakes that are great, though)
Nintendo 3DS: Star Fox 64 3DS (ton of games I haven’t touched yet, inc. Fantasy Life which is in the mail)
Vic 20: Doom (no, seriously, just as a feat of technology)
Commodore 64: Wasteland (or Pirates!, if we want an exclusive)
Amiga: Eye of the Beholder II
PC ’85-’89: SimCity (HM to Maniac Mansion which almost made my C64 list, too — both great versions)
PC ’90-’94: TIE Fighter
PC ’95-’99: Unreal Tournament
PC ’00-’04: Dark Age of Camelot
PC ’05-’09: Battlefield 2142
PC ’10-’14: Global Agenda RIFT PlanetSide 2 since it’s already F2P and they can’t ruin it by going F2P.
All time fav system: Nintendo 64, was a local multiplayer beast and those are the days I enjoyed the most
All time fav handheld: DS, by virtue of being backwards compatible w/ GBA and having a huge library
All time fav game: TIE Fighter
