I was wondering what is the fastest way by doing it?
I mean doing it so people like it and better then CAT ones, when i do it without CAT it is really annoying to me and takes lots of time, what is the fastest way?
It takes time to do it right.
Delete the notes that shouldn’t be in the lower difficulty. Copy hard to medium and continue.
If you want to put in effort and make it good, it will take time, or if you want it done fast you use CAT.
CAT is a set of tool. If you use the auto reductions and don’t touch them, they will probably come out below par. If you the single commands to expedite things or the autoreductions as a starting basis you can do things well AND fast-ish.
I author one section of the song at a time for all difficulties. So I’ll author the first chorus with all difficulties and animations, then copy paste to all other choruses. This means when you find anything you need to change in later sections you can alter all the difficulties at the same time.
I also find it way easier to author easy before medium and hard, just because it’s easier to tell how difficult to make everything when you’re working with the easiest you can make the part first. And also that’s the order the RB preview window in reaper follows, so less clicking.
Reductions, like everything else related to customs, takes time and effort to get it right. Don’t rush a miracle, sonny, or you’ll get rotten miracles.
Personally I do them all by hand. Yeah, it’s tedious, but it’s also fun in its own way, discovering what you can strip away while still keeping the “feel” of the song.
Even though I don’t do this because I’m lazy, I’d say using CAT as the groundwork for your lower difficulties. Then delete/add/shift as needed to your liking.
the amount of time it takes to do full band on just expert is mind boggling so I don’t spend any time working on lower difficulties because I’d have 25% of my songs done at this point and for not much gained for the effort. Yes it’s nice for perfection sake but time is precious so I say make the most of it and get as many awesome songs in the game as possible
