ws54 mentioned EBA in Gigakoops’ thread, and I previously put this forward as a collab option closer to the start of the project, so I wager it’s as good a time as any to mention/propose it again. I will admit that I, personally, don’t have a ton of time to bang out charts, but I would look at doing venues/harmonies/vocals for many of these tracks if people did want to collab (or just wanted someone to playtest/review these).
This is the list of songs from Elite Beat Agents that are not available in Rock Band, either officially or via C3 (if I missed a song that has a custom we could use as a base, either from one of the authors here or otherwise, let me know):
Elite Beat Agents Complete Collection
Ashlee Simpson – “La La”
Avril Lavigne – “Sk8er Boi” (interest: DVDSmith – drums, ws54 – guitar/bass)
Cher – “Believe” (interest: farottone – unknown)
Chicago – “You’re the Inspiration”
Destiny’s Child – “Survivor”
Freddie Mercury/Queen – “I Was Born to Love You” (Collab: espher, DVDSmith, ws54, possibly farottone)
Hoobastank – “Without a Fight” (Collab: DVDSmith, ws54, possibly espher (vox))
Jamiroquai – “Canned Heat” (interest: DVDSmith – drums)
Madonna – “Material Girl”
The Rolling Stones – “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” (interest: farottone – unknown, DVDSmith – drums)
Steriogram – “Walkie Talkie Man” (espher: Previously released as a custom, can FtV it.)
Stray Cats – “Rock This Town” (interest: DVDSmith – drums)
Sum 41 – “Makes No Difference” (Gigakoops: Added to his list at ws54’s request.)
Village People – “Y.M.C.A.” (GHtoRB3/other convert?)
I’m thinking original tracks over the EBA covers (I hope that would be obvious), and I have no specific date in mind (November 6th would be the 7th anniversary of the game’s release so that would be as good a target as any even though it’s not a notable milestone). If people are only interested in select tracks, I wouldn’t mind doing a themed pack as a release.
Expressions of interest for collaboration:
July 25, 2013 at 2:10 pm #403478Stuff I could help with (not author by myself, sorry):
Cher – “Believe”
Freddie Mercury/Queen – “I Was Born to Love You”
The Rolling Stones – “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”
July 25, 2013 at 5:19 pm #403484Love this soundtrack. My most wanted would be Without a Fight, Sk8er Boi, Canned Heat, Makes No Difference, Rock This Town, I Was Born to Love You, La La, and Jumpin’ Jack Flash, in that order.
But like Farottone, I can only contribute, I can’t do any all by myself. Happy to do drums on the ones I mentioned above.
July 25, 2013 at 7:57 pm #403486If anyone reading this thread has never played Elite Beat Agents… well… what are you waiting for? Anyone that loves Rock Band will love EBA just as much. It is worthy of purchasing a DS just for the one game.
I’d be up for adding Guitar/Bass to these songs:
Especially: Makes No Difference, Without a Fight, and I Was Born to Love You
But Also: Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Sk8er Boi, and La La
Although having the complete soundtrack would be cool, that’s a tall order. Having a 3-6 pack themed as EBA would probably suffice. Imagine the promo video starting with EBA play and then transitioning into the same song in Rock Band.
July 25, 2013 at 9:12 pm #403487Well that escalated quickly ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />
Anyway, I already added “Makes No Difference” on my to-do list, so I may do some more of these after I release some other stuff. I know I have a guitar chart for Sk8er Boi from my Phase Shift setlist (that’ll sadly never get a full release due to me being a dumby and deleting Phase Shift for the sake of free space for Adobe programs, when I had room this whole time. Still have the Reaper projects though).
July 25, 2013 at 9:21 pm #403489Although having the complete soundtrack would be cool, that’s a tall order. It’s fourteen tracks, one of which is already authored and FtV ready. I don’t think it’s that tall an order, compared to some of the other projects bouncing around… I do agree that a themed pack is better, and you can always do a series of several 5 packs if people hopped on board.
July 25, 2013 at 9:43 pm #403490Oh, also, can I request that I Was Born to Love You be the version from Made in Heaven please? I love that version so much.
July 25, 2013 at 10:29 pm #403494I think the part still needing to be offered is Vocals. If we got a vocal author to volunteer then it seems we could proceed with some of the songs.

is a lot less rocky and more piano pop oriented. The Queen re-record is much more suited to Rock Band ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
July 28, 2013 at 2:47 pm #403614I’ll pencil myself in for “September”, since EWF is sorely underrepresented. Not sure I’ll get to it any time soon, though.
July 28, 2013 at 2:52 pm #403615As long as you can start it in September we should be okay. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>
Unrelated, I guess I didn’t list YMCA by The Village People, since I thought that was already GHtoRB3’d, but if not, we could potentially look into that.

That should be pretty easy to GHtoRB3 since the BH ‘guitar’ chart is 100% keys.
July 28, 2013 at 9:36 pm #403621Is there a preference between versions of “Makes No Difference”? There’s the original from their EP “Half Hour of Power” and the re-record for their best-of “All the Good Shit.” I am currently authoring the original, since I like using original versions (unless there’s huge difference that makes the later version better), but I can switch over to the re-record if wanted.

Yeah, original is fine/preferred. Re-record isn’t bad, but I think the original is what people will know, and if we’re not doing multis… original all the way.
Regarding “I Was Born to Love You”:
Keys/Pro Keys – farottone? (I know you had pulled some good Queen .mids or w/e in the past, like when I was considering ’39)
Drums – DVDSmith
Guitar/Bass – ws54
Vocals/Harmonies/Venue – espher
Doable?
