April 21, 2013 at 1:40 pm #398669Now here’s where my problem comes in. I just don’t feel comfortable giving out mp3 files. I would love to help you guys out and giving my .con files and such, but I’m just not that comfortable doing that.
A con is good enough.
If you can’t share cons, then you should honestly just stick to Scorehero’s software forum, FoF, etc.
You know, you are right. Well I knew I would have to do it eventually if I wanted to be a part of this project.
Here is the con
April 21, 2013 at 2:05 pm #398673Since my strong points are charting drums and vocalsHad a quick look at Ho Hey. I’ve got good news and bad news:
The good news is that your syllable placement and pitches are pretty good.
The bad news is that you’ve quantized vocals to 1/16th. A couple years ago, Harmonix set the standard for vocals at 1/64 quantization. With 1/16th, many of the finer details are lost: e.g., extra slides at M52.3 “I don’t think(G) +(E) you’re right(E) +(D)”, etc.
I’ll be happy to take another look once you’ve refined it a bit.

Thanks for the feedback!
I think I know what you’re saying about the vocals. I’ll see what I can do.
April 21, 2013 at 7:57 pm #398682I think I fixed some of the parts that you were talking about. Do you want me to give you the reaper project or the con file?
April 21, 2013 at 9:02 pm #398686I think I fixed some of the parts that you were talking about. Do you want me to give you the reaper project or the con file?Your choice. Since I have the con, even just the mid is fine at this point.
April 21, 2013 at 10:51 pm #398693Here’s the midi with the updated vocal stuff.

Now from what I understand is that you were telling me to add in some more pitch bends that I missed, and that they should be charted using 1/64 instead of 1/16. My results are in the midi.
I hope I did this right because this is my first time doing a chart that is this detailed, so I hope it goes over well.
Thanks for all of your help so far. I appreciate it. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
April 22, 2013 at 12:57 am #398701Now from what I understand is that you were telling me to add in some more pitch bends that I missed, and that they should be charted using 1/64 instead of 1/16.Not exactly – EVERYTHING should be charted using 1/64. Quick vocal rules of thumb:
– No syllable should be less than 2/64 long
– Don’t bother with a slide if it’s just a semitone difference, and the start is less than 150 ms
– For slides: the gap between the notes should be at least 2/64 for a semitone, and probably at least 3/64 for bigger slide intervals
I don’t point out differences that are less than 2/64 – that’s close enough. So here’s my feedback for the first bit. The major points:
– Syllable timing needs to be accurate to 1/64, not 1/16
– Remember to chop off consonants like “s”, “f”, etc.
– This is a very slidy song – “I’ve been sleep– ing here” needs more slides.
M12.2.18: I’ve: start 3/64 later, 3/64 long
M12.3.62: ing: move 2/64 later

M16.2.43: been: move 1/64 sooner, 3/64 long
M16.3.00: sleep-(G) +(E)

M17.1.62: in-: move 1/64 sooner, 3/64 long
M17.2.50: stead: start 2/64 later, end 17.3.18
M18.2.00: I’ve(G)
M18.2.58: been(Bb): move 2/64 sooner, 3/64 long
M18.3.81: ing: start 2/64 sooner
M18.4.81: in: end 3/64 sooner
M19.1.18: my(E) +(G)

M21.3.50: bed: 4/64 longer, move + 2/64 later

M26.3.87: me: move 2/64 sooner, 3/64 long

M27.1.37: i-: move 2/64 sooner
M27.3.31: ly: end 5/64 later
April 23, 2013 at 11:25 pm #398755Ok here is the new midi with fixed vocals. Hopefully I fixed most of it. Although I know there needs more work on the chorus and some harmony notes. But I think I got the verses fixed.

May 12, 2013 at 2:10 am #399546I can spare some time to help with MMMBop if you want to author it.

First of all, I don’t know how you go about charting but surprisingly there’s a clean looking GP file for the song. You can check it out on Songsterr. It really depends on how much time you have. I can go over any instrument, I can take care of drums or vocals, etc. I tend not to work on single songs, I prefer packs, we could even work on something like a Pop pack and you do this, I do some other song, etc.
May 12, 2013 at 1:09 pm #399557Well, I’m already half way done charting drums. I will probably need help on some harmonies. Usually I’m not the best at charting guitar, but this song sounds pretty easy. Making a pack would be nice. I was planning on making a 90s pop pack which would have MMMBop, maybe I’d add in …Baby One More Time, not sure. I’m not sure what else we could add. Maybe something along the lines of Backstreet Boys or something lol.

Sticking stateside, I’d love to see Larger Than Life by BSB if you do decide on them.

I wouldn’t do that, things might be in works…
