    Hello all,

I have 3 drum pedals from Guitar Hero drums – and unfortunately they all are not working correctly anymore. They are registering a ‘hit’ both when I press down and lift up the pedal. It doesn’t happen every single time, just every once in awhile. Anyone know if it’s worth opening it up and trying to fix it somehow? Or should I just look for a new set or pedal?

If I cannot fix it, where is a good place to find new pedals or complete sets? I’ve considered getting a MIDI set as well, like and Alesis dm7x or something – but I’d rather not drop that much money (unless you guys feel that it’s totally worth it). I’m an avid drummer, play almost every day so I need to figure something out.

    Thanks for your help!

If you play drums every day then it’s not a bad idea to invest in proper MIDI drums if you have the space for them, especially considering how (at least in my opinion) the Guitar Hero set feels very toy-like and restrictive compared to a full MIDI set that is set up more like a acoustic one

If you don’t want to spend a lot of money though, experiment and see if you can find out exactly what is triggering the double hits and then it might be possible to come up with a solution

It’s totally worth it. Trawl Craigslist for a few weeks – if you’re lucky, you can score a used Yamaha or Roland for $400 or so.
