Sorry, I entirely forgot to link the project:
January 28, 2015 at 1:37 pm #437210Also, I notice it just says guitar. Are these the only changes, or are these only the ones gotten to yet? Just curious.
So far nothing else has been reported.
I notice you want to make the M40-M43 notes into chords. I agree, but if these are bring made into chords, I think I need to makes the BO chords on M44-45 into YBO then. Those notes are audibly more pronounced and “bigger” (which is why they were BO while the previous was just . Would that work? I’ll make the update so you can see how it looks after.
It’s not me, it’s PT from other established authors, Ryan in this case. I suppose it would work, yes.
January 28, 2015 at 1:44 pm #437211Alright, just checking. I’ll have these back around in an hour or so. Last thing I’m curious about.
The chorus changes where you want sustains instead of chords. (If you have the file still would you mind taking a look when you have a change). Was he also referring to the chorus towards the end of the song as well? It’s charted different than the first two, but I’m guessing that he also means here? (Measures 106 – 114)
Should I make those into sustains as well? I personally hear chords for some of them, but apparently that was not right in the first two chorus’ ha. Sorry for being a pain, just want to avoid multiple turn arounds if possible. Happy to see this close to completion.
January 28, 2015 at 1:52 pm #437212Ultimately it’s your call. Check what he meant, check what you hear in both spots and apply as needed. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”> As a reference, your chart had very little reported compared to many others that are usually playtested.

There is the file with the guitar changes.
If there are more changes or this is going to be checked over again and anything comes up, let me know. Whenever this is ready, I can package up everything (build files, visualizer, ect) and have a finished version ready for you.

That has already been done. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”> There is a slight possibility that this needs to be released tomorrow, I’ll keep you posted.
January 28, 2015 at 3:08 pm #437217Great to hear; makes my life easier ha.
I’d double check those 3 choruses then. I took the advice given plus what you said, and charted out better what I believe I heard. I agree with most of the sustains, but I still hear some trailing transition notes which I put in. If you do not agree with those feel free to just pull them and extend the sustains (or let me know which ones and I’ll do it).
January 29, 2015 at 1:42 pm #437302***EDIT***
I’m curious. On my reserved list, I have (outside of the Journey songs):
Five for Fighting – 100 Years
Jackson Browne – The Load-Out / Stay
I was curious if anyone would have plans in the future to pick one/either of these up when they are finished?
As of right now, both of these files are only being held up by my need to finish their Pro Key charts (100 Years also needs guitar). I’m somewhat pushing these off as Pro Keys are not the easiest thing to chart out, and I’m more-so trying to gauge if it is worth going through the charting process only to release it in a person custom thread. Both of these songs have a very central piano, and (similar to Faithfully), it would not be right to send these out without keys of some sort.
I know that Pro Keys are not something that everyone can play, and it seems lower on what needs to be done for a non-C3 release. If either of these songs are not going to be picked up, I would be fine just charting out 5-lane keys and being done (releasing them in my upcoming Other Customs personal thread).
I’ll wait a week or two for responses (I’ll make on note on my main post as well), and go from these. I’ll be busy with the Journey songs to keep me busy until then anyways. Thanks for the heads up!
Edit:
With the announcement of the new Pro Keys policy, I’m a bit more relaxed on these files for the time being. I’ll be able to get something that is very close to the true part, but won’t pull my hair out on parts that the piano cannot be heard almost at all. I will make sure to focus on the sections where the piano is the main part or a prominent part. Both songs have big sections where the piano is the focus, and I’ve been working hard on those. My big areas were the other sections where the piano is mixed deep and almost impossible to hear/discern. I will still do my best to chart those, but without a pro author ear, they may be reduced down to a generalization of what I hear, and likely the song’s chord progression with some flare thrown in when it can be heard.
January 30, 2015 at 3:23 pm #437392With the Pro Keys announcment, here’s updated list of timelines/information on my customs (more concise than before hopefully, I tend to like to write ha).
Active Projects
Cheap Trick – The Flame
Have not heard back from Far. Assuming either chart needs a few final touches still (will get back to me when he can), or it’s fine and being release today/soon.
Journey – Open Arms
Awaiting initial run through of expert charts.
Journey – Faithfully
Will power through the trouble ~12 measures and drop in viable pro keys. This will likely be able to be picked up next week. I’ll leave note markers on the “trouble” areas so someone can make their opinion on how close they are and if they will work.
Journey – Wheel in the Sky
Guitar/Bass/Drums finished. I’m making a personal call that there should not* be keys released with this. You can only distinctly* hear keys in a few measures/areas, and I cannot find sheet music / midis that have keys (outside of someone creating a “piano only” version which is basically just the melody transitioned into keys). I think the effort to just throw chord-progression chords in is not worth what it would bring to the file. If an admin is opposed to this, we can deal with that down the road.
I can post this now if wanted, or I can wait until Nyx has time to finish vocals. Only other thing is that I put a temporary fade out ending fix. Looking to see if Nyx does anything to make a viable version. If not, it can be figured out later.
Journey – Feeling That Way + Anytime
Guitar/Drums finished, Bass to be finished next week. Keys are finished for Feeling That Way, but I cannot find anything on Anytime. It sounds like chords mostly, so I’ll likely just match the progression up best I can and throw those in. Hoping Nyx or someone would be interested in charting Vocals when they have time. If no, I can start those next week as well.
Possible Pick-Ups
Jackson Browne – The Load-Out + Stay
Charted outside of Pro Keys. I’m going to focus on the parts of the song with vibrant and main piano to be charted accurately. There is decent midi/sheet music available (not perfect but generally close), so I’ll use that to chart out the best I can for Stay (less important key areas).
Five for Fighting – 100 Years
Holding off on this. Want to focus on Journey files, getting Jackson Browne finally finished, and getting Clockwork Angels side project finalized.
Possible Next Projects
Journey – Lights
Journey – Stone in Love
Journey – Mother, Father
If there is likelihood of a Journey-Pack release, I’d like to make it as big as possible. They’ve had some highly requested song, and I’ll like to get the big hits done all in one push. Also, if Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’ is possible to get polished up and such in the next month I’d love to see that as well. I know it was said there is a lot of work to be done on that; I’d be willing to help them out if they/you all would like.
Look at that, I still found a way to type a damn essay. Sorry ha. If you couldn’t tell, I like to make sure I get all my information out, and get my point across
January 30, 2015 at 3:29 pm #437395Cheap Trick – The Flame
Have not heard back from Far. Assuming either chart needs a few final touches still (will get back to me when he can), or it’s fine and being release today/soon.
It’s out next Friday, no other feedback from PT currently.
Journey – Open Arms
Journey – Faithfully
Journey – Wheel in the Sky
Journey – Feeling That Way + Anytime
We’ll tackle this once they’re done so we can release a solid pack, along with any others you want to do.
January 30, 2015 at 3:43 pm #437399I’m definitely doing vox for wheel+anytime+lights. Target date 2/13.
January 30, 2015 at 3:57 pm #437401Glad to hear on The Flame! Thanks for all the help getting that up to par.
As per the Journey pack, alright. I’ll take the files down and just keep a list tracking the progress on everything. Once it’s close to a finished point, I’ll upload everything to be downloaded. This should save space and confusion.
I see Nyx has stated what he would like. Far, if you have any songs instruments that you would like, let me know. I’m always open to letting someone with desire to chart something have it. I only say that as I remember you talking a while back about wanting to chart keys on some. If not, no issue issue. Vocals are my only problem area.
Depending on how fast these can be gotten underway by me, I’m planning on adding in all 3 of the other Journey songs that I listed (assuming this doesn’t end up taking TOO long, which it shouldn’t). Just as a heads up.
January 30, 2015 at 4:56 pm #437407[update]
– Removed Journey file information from main page
– Added in the Journey Pack – Progress tracking chart (will be updating when changes are needed) which should give an easier visual representation of the progress of everything.
– Changed topic from Ready to Reserved (as Far stated we’re going to wait until most of the songs are finished before reviewing/testing/ect them.
February 2, 2015 at 8:47 pm #437605[update]
– Faithfully X Pro Keys finished
– Updated progress chart; split Feeling That Way and Anytime up into different rows on the chart
Have also been helping another user (Gep) touch up his Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’ file:
– Recharted drums, fixing a lot of issues
– CAT -> personal reductions
– Charted out X Pro Keys
I have been talking with Far about the possibility of including this file with the pack.
February 2, 2015 at 9:58 pm #437609Vocals on Lovin’ Touchin’ Squeezin’ need some serious help.
Twist my arm.
