I was going to go back & drop the harmonies down to different octaves to differentiate them from the main vocals when I could get around to it. I need to pick a day and polish that turd, lol. I also do my best in choosing the right ‘notes’ for whats being played. As I said, I have no musical background to draw from so assigning for example, F# to a specific note or these notes to that chord is outside my knowledge base. I will break the rules and throw an orange in medium or blue in easy when it fits better. I do try to keep that to a minimum, tho. Trying to use 3 colors and no chords is a pain. I end up with a LOT of yellows. Players can learn to play on official songs. My demographic is experienced players. Sorry if you think a note or chord should be something other than what I charted but that’s fine. We are not all going to do it exactly the same. You can choose to not play it if it bothers you that much.
February 17, 2015 at 12:55 am #438558Just trying to help. Don’t worry – that’s the last of it.
February 17, 2015 at 1:08 am #438559Just a suggestion, and it’s not ironic or anything, really matter-of-fact: if you write “I invite everyone to pick apart anything you see in my early releases so I can improve my work as I go” in your OP, you make people think you want them to, well, pick apart your songs and give you suggestions to improve. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
More than a few people here made it clear that they want to put in only the amount of work we see in their songs and nothing more, and that’s fine. But make sure you say that, because if you invite feedback in order to improve you will get feedback to make you improve. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>
February 17, 2015 at 1:34 am #438563^ Gotta agree there with Farottone. OP says:
Greetings everyone! This will be where I will release all of my customs
I invite everyone to pick apart anything you see in my early releases so I can improve my work as I go.
Hope you enjoy!
..which he did do…but didn’t just pick it apart slamming the work, he was quite specific I’d say in helping with exact suggestions to do to it (not leaving you in a “what is he looking for” type of direction). If you invite everyone to pick it apart, I’d definitely be open to welcoming the expert guys in that group…especially if they are willing to give you exact suggestions like that. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” /> At this point though, you may have just walked your way out of getting that expert level help. Not really smart if you really want to improve at it like your OP says.
February 17, 2015 at 4:10 am #438571Fair enough, I did in fact ask for input. I could have phrased it better perhaps. Looking for more peer review than a teacher grading my work. I only care about how the song plays, if my peers are enjoying it, not if a vocal note is .250 off. Also having read nearly every thread there is before I started to chart I learned there are 3 I’d rather not interact with here due to lack of people skills. Just waiting for the third to chime in.

February 17, 2015 at 2:20 pm #438584People are totally welcome to come over to my thread and pick my songs apart ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
February 17, 2015 at 3:18 pm #438588Just trying to help. Don’t worry – that’s the last of it.Who do you think you are to help people. Stop oppressing the forum members. Why are you so mean? – am I doing “it” right?
Your confusion Nyx, is that you tried to help how a normal person tries to help. But OP wants people to help how he wants people to help him. Nyx, don’t take it too hard. I also fell for the old “let me help until I get berated because I didn’t help in the right way” treatment.
Just waiting for the third to chime in.Hi.
February 17, 2015 at 3:22 pm #438589Guys, let’s just the thread get back to its own purpose. He made it clear what he meant when he was asking for feedback so let’s return the thread to its original state so that he can release his material the way he wants.
February 17, 2015 at 3:27 pm #438590Hi.There he is!
Welcome!!!
February 17, 2015 at 3:38 pm #438591Back to serious business.
For those that are interested, bass is re charted. I was not aware of chord restrictions as I don’t play bass but now I do so thank you for that at least. Also harmonies are differentiated from main vocals more and a small tweak to guitar.

February 24, 2015 at 11:56 am #439169I’ve got a surprise for you djmike!
Just you wait! I think you’ll like the surprise too!
Hopefully it will encourage you to make more content like this!
As a unrelated side note. I too feel the pain of being critiqued by the masters / gods. Don’t ever take it as sign that you are doing something wrong but that something could be improved. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” /> Happy charting and thanks for the content!
February 24, 2015 at 12:45 pm #439175Thank you for the Billy Joel! Great work. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
