I’ve authored a few songs in the past and am quite familiar with the process and the necessities of charting.
However, my question here is simple: What is the general rule regarding the designation of the vocal tonic note in a song with key changes? I’ve begun charting a song with a section that has a different tonic note than the rest of the song. I’ve been unable to find anything related to this issue anywhere else.
I’m assuming that it’s best to designate the tonic as that which applies to the majority of the song, but I just want to be sure there’s no hidden miracle tool in Magma to help with this or anything. Any replies are appreciated.
There is no way around this, one or more sections of your song will display lines according to the wrong key.
Unfortunate to hear. Regardless, thanks!
