I believe so yes, I haven`t had to many complaints.

I do very little changes to the file. I run it through Midi cleaner which fixes 99.989999% of the errors. I fix the rest to get it through Magma.

Guitar Hero conversions are mainly about:

– Pro drums notes

– Open bass notes translation

– Fixing chordy guitar charts

– Fixing crazy tempo maps

– Venue and events

– Adding Harmonies

– Adding Keys/Pro Keys

– Fixing lyrics issues

– Fixing reductions

– Fixing sustains length

– OD, BRE and drums OD activation

 

So anybody can tick off what they do to tell he difference between a complete conversion and a quick one.

In addition to what Farottone said, I’d also add that pretty much every song needs to have almost all vocal tubes adjusted. They either start too early/late and/or end too early/late. Also some pitches may be off from time to time. Plus, phrase markers often need re-doing as they can often be too many of them.

 

With that said, what spindoctor is doing is fantastic and I hope he keeps going. The songs are multitrack and entirely playable. That’s enough for me to add them to the library.

I have downloaded many of Spindoctor’s GH converts and although they may not have all the bells and whistles of the C3 releases, they are still very playable and much appreciated additions to my RB library. I also would love to see some more GH:VH converts. Those songs are just too iconic not to be given the RB treatment, especially since that GH game engine was already outdated before it was even released (such a bummer).

So by events, do you mean camera cuts? CAT would be able to generate the animations but if there’s no camera cuts then these aren’t for me.
