I’m actually really curios how come Dancing in the Dark is rated 3 on drums. As far as I remember it’s a pretty standard rock beat through. Hardly any drum fills and stuff. Expected tier 0 or 1 at most.
I gave it three based on the tempo, double kicks and likelihood of failure. To a skilled drummer it might be 0 or 1 like you said but to someone of average skill this is a very fast beat. My drummer plays on expert, gets gold stars on most 0, 1 and 2 songs and she could not hold a streak for more than a couple measures on this one because its so fast. So I decided to give it three.
I think of these things as being subjective to each author’s perspective. You can always change it back to 1 dot in the DTA file, when the song is released. I think you’ll find that many of my charts are skewed in this manner (less drum difficulty than you would probably choose yourself).
I’ve never charted a song with a 2x pedal version and I can only assume if I did I would give it 5 or 6 dots because they seem impossible to play (at my or my drummers skill level).

Fair enough. Actually I agree with you – I think sometimes RB tiers ignore the tempo of the song, which is a shame. An example that springs to mind is ‘Just Like Heaven’ in RB3 – which is tier 0! Sure nothing is too difficult in the song, but it’s pretty fast and a bit of a stamina test. It’s difficult to keep a streak too. I’m sure there’s more examples.

Both songs will be released Friday
It also means that if all goes well, next week will be a double barrel showdown.
Thanks to all of you who voted or commented on this weeks tunes.
January 31, 2018 at 8:39 pm #494925Lol ! I found that statement rather amusing, rcale ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” /> Your inner Bass man just might be a snob! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” /> ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
Snob? Moi? Not me, sir. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> But as was mentioned below with regards drummers, I find constant strumming or picking or whatever it is (I pull up with my index finger to play the note) above a certain tempo really tiring. Strangely, its more acute when its the same note over and over. If the notes are all over the place but just as fast its a bit easier to handle – I think its because my concentration is elsewhere. Its my own failing!
I love Dancing In The Dark though so will grabbing it for sure. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

February 6, 2018 at 6:45 pm #495109Good Tuesday to all
Its time for the week 5 finale of
Rockband Decades The 80’s
For the last 4 weeks we have met our goals of getting people involved in our thread.
Thank you for tuning in each week & casting your votes.
@MrPrezident worked some overtime & got some extra songs finished.
So we figured this week as a bonus it’s going to be a dual Showdown, double vote week.
All songs will be released this week for sure, no matter what.
We still would like you to take part as we use this voting system to determine the artists we might do in the future.
This week if we get 25 votes total for all 4 songs, we will release the
Showdown winners the next day & the Runners up Friday.
If we don’t get to 25 votes all 4 will be released Friday.
You can only vote for one song in each showdown
Clear as mud?

Thanks to my Partner @MrPrezident, without his dedication to this it would not be the fun place it has become.
He is the backbone to what ever goes on here.
Special thanks to the following authors for their contributions to

MrPrezident: https://db.c3universe.com/songs/all/__user/MrPrezidentFebruary 6, 2018 at 7:29 pm #495111I’ll abstain from voting in the first Showdown, as I don’t think I’ve ever heard or heard of the artists or songs involved… I feel like a young timer for once.
Now, Showdown #2… for me, Authority Song is the clear and easy choice. I’m very pleased with all the love Mellencamp gets and all the songs he has in the database! He’s one of the quintessential American rockers. I think Authority Song will just about do it for the no-brainer customs (besides Pink Houses, WTF). Kudos to Nunchuck and Sygenysis for towing a hefty portion of that line.
Looking forward to what’s next after we leave the ’80s!

Say What??
Looking forward to what’s next after we leave the ’80s!
You can always come back & vote after listening to the great tunes Showdown #1 has.
We have some great tunes lined up for the next project.
If your an “old timer”
Stay tuned
February 6, 2018 at 7:52 pm #495113Thanks for all the people involved in this season, this 80’s decades finale is incredible, so big hits here!
this week is another hard decision, the hardest choice ever.
but here is my vote:
Showdown #1 : number 2
Showdown #2 : number 2 (also is my requested song, and most awaited on c3, hahaha, thanks a lot)
Have a nice fight.
February 6, 2018 at 9:28 pm #495117To start, the finale definitely makes up for some of the so-so weeks. Good songs all around, some choices harder than others. Let’s take a look…
Had a “Ohhhh, that song” moment with “Dreamin'”. Didn’t know It by name alone…one of a handful of his songs known in the US. Might’ve picked it except for…
OMG IS THAT SAGA?!? Possibly the best song out of the last six weeks of Showdown. Now we just need “Wind Him Up”. Vote for this song, people, you will not be sorry!
Then there’s Idol vs. Mellencamp. Basically, it’s kind of a draw here. A lot of people will probably go with Billy on this one, but “Authority Song” is one of my favorite Mellencamp tunes (also, upbeat usually wins out over slow with me). I can hold off on “Eyes” a while longer.
Choices: Saga and John Mellencamp
February 6, 2018 at 9:30 pm #4951182 & 2.
Does that make it a double-double?
February 6, 2018 at 10:25 pm #495119Yet again another fantastic showdown and this time a double down .
After listening to all tracks , looks like going against the grain , the Ramblers votes are as follows
Showdown #1 is for……. 1 Cliff Richard and
Showdown #2 is for……. 2 Billy Idol
but all songs cracking choices and HUGE thank you’s to everybody involved
February 6, 2018 at 10:29 pm #495120#2 and #3
February 6, 2018 at 11:30 pm #495123I’m down with Saga – On the Loose (#2). I haven’t heard that album in years. I’m also down with Billy Idol – Eyes without a Face (#4). Awesome choices guys. This is gonna be good.
