[Gigakoops]

It was mentioned in the Internet Pack thread that there was interest in Game Grumps remixes. I had suggested it be it’s own collab, so here I am typing this.

 

For the uninitiated, Game Grumps is a Let’s Play style channel run by Arin Hanson (Egoraptor) and Danny “Sexbang” from an internet band called “Ninja Sex Party” (Danny replaced JonTron earlier this year). They essentially provide often humorous commentary while playing classic video games. Their fanbase has made a large amount of remixes of notable moments of certain episodes. And this collab would essentially involve us charting some of those.

 

I personally have contacts with an artist called “Yogurt With Sprinkles” who’s done his fair share of GG remixes, including this one with over 20,000 views.

 

 

I can try to contact him and see if he’d be interested in letting me chart this for this collab. Anyway, discuss below what kind of ideas you have for remixes.

I’m totally for it! As I mentioned in the Internet pack theard earlier, I made some of the older remixes in the past as playable songs in Phase Shift. They definitely need to be revamped to the C3 standards. Changing the guitar part to keys and pitching the vocals for example.

I also started to chart Goof Troop Boop, but never finished it.

 

I sent messages to both of the guys and asked for the stems. Waterflame mailed me back and said he will see what he can do.

 

Btw. I’m also considering charting some of the Ninja Sex Party stuff. Keys and harmonies would be fun to play.

I’ve been given the go-ahead from Yogurt With Sprinkles to author “Hey Mr. Wilson,” and will be getting stems shortly. So there’s one to add to the list.

I have the “Hey Mr. Wilson” stems now, so hopefully I’ll have it finished soon.

I will be uploading v1 of “Hey Mr. Wilson” shortly. This has separated masters, all difficulties, animation, etc. The only thing is that I used the same “generic” Game Grumps logo Yogurt With Sprinkles uses on his Bandcamp site. I will ask later about a picture similar to that of the YouTube video.

Hey Mirio, since we need to add all of our songs to our scheduler, when do you prefer to have this collab due? I already have my song in playtesting, so any date is fine with me.

The problem is I don’t have any time to author songs for now because of collage. I didn’t even touched my Foo Fighters full album project for over a month and it doesn’t seems to happen too soon. I still can upload my old Phase Shift midi’s and let you mess around with it.

If you want, I can release “Hey Mr. Wilson” as a single, and maybe come up with another song for the collab. This way I meet the demands of needing to put all songs on the scheduler, and the artist gets to play his song (he is really looking forward to seeing his work get the Rock Band treatment, being a long time player). What do you think?

I don’t wanna promise anything, but I might take a look at the Grumps song during the next week. I wish I also had the original stems, but for now I didn’t got any feedback from the remixers.
