I’m putting together a new PC and honestly feel a bit lost when it comes to power supplies. There are so many brands and wattage options. How do you know what’s actually reliable and not just marketing? Is efficiency really that important, or am I overthinking it?

I get what you mean, PSUs are confusing for many people. Some just pick whatever fits the budget, others spend hours comparing specs. I think it depends on how serious the build is and how long you plan to keep it. Stability and safety usually matter more than flashy features.

From my experience, a power supply is one of those parts you shouldn’t cheap out on, even if it’s not the most exciting component. A good PSU protects all the other hardware and keeps everything running smoothly under load. I usually look at brand reputation, certifications, and real user feedback instead of ads. It also helps to check official product lines and explanations directly from the manufacturer, like https://seasonic.com/power-supplies/, because you can clearly see how different series are meant for different builds. Once you understand your system’s needs, choosing becomes much easier and less stressful.
