Whenever I tried to use the Automatic Reduction tool in CAT, the selection screen goes away and nothing nothing happens.

CAT usually doesn’t work because there is a note on the track that is not in the correct lanes. Check to make sure that there are no notes that are outside the usual lanes – on drums, this often happens when copying fills and accidentally copying up a snare below the tom notes. There are other things that would cause your problem, but this is definitely the first thing to check.

Also, try copying everything into a fresh version of the template if you can’t find the above and use CAT there – that usually fixes any issues that aren’t the above when I’m using it. Just copy the reductions back when you’re done.

Or use CAT to “remove invalid markers” then try reductions.

Some other possible reasons for it not working could be that you have incorrect track name(s), or missing [music_end] and [end] text events in EVENTS, or an unsupported special character in the audio file name.

Turns out I just needed to reinstall CAT. Thanks anyway!

Hi, i need help in making CAT.py appear in Reaper v4.22. I have looked everywhere for guildlines but can not find any. I have the CAT files, but i just cannot figure where to place them. Sorry in advance!
