I haven’t had a chance to play any of them yet, but the videos I’ve seen have looked pretty good. Just could have used some minor alterations here and there. Nobody’s perfect. I can’t count the number of notes I’ve gotten about my ability to chart vocals.

People definitely quit the fucking complaining though. The dude releases like a song a day pretty much and it seems near everyone has to point out that they’re drums only. Like he fucking forgot to add in the other instruments or something. The guys does drums and only drums. Want to play guitar on it so badly? Quit bitching and learn to do it yourself. I love this place, but the general sense of entitlement seems to be worsening.

These are people doing this because they want to. They aren’t getting paid. They aren’t working for anyone. This isn’t their life’s ambition. They like these songs enough to make them for Rock Band and happen to be nice enough to share them.

Canuck please change your mind. You are putting some great songs out there, many of which I’d love to turn into full banders one day. A lot of people are enjoying your content and it’s no fair to take that away from them because some people feel entitled and you get some constructive criticism.

I hope you all understand this is also the situation for those authors who do chart full band and all difficulties, whether they’re affiliated with C3 or not. Everyone’s a volunteer.

I don’t see it that way though. The more you give, the more people will get excited and ask for more: that’s a point of pride, not pressure. If we see any sign of a sense of entitlement, believe me, we are the first ones to put an end to it. But a polite nudge? That we like, we all love to see more full band customs.

            Leaving it to the pros.

What?!? Dude – listen to what these other guys are saying and don’t stop! A little bit of constructive criticism is how we all learn and get better at things. If you’re getting any offline complaints beyond what I’ve seen here then maybe you’ve got reason to be upset. But what’s been posted here doesn’t seem like much to me.

I’ve enjoyed many of your charts and I *really* like some of your song choices – so please: keep up the good work!

I thought your charts were pretty good and your taste in songs oustanding. Come on back, Canuck! I know I had my eye on a few of your charts with intentions of making them Full Band.

By the way, I looked through this thread and counted 16 instances of people noting/complaining about them being drums only, even myself. That had to have gotten old for Canuck.

                Exactly!

When I “complained”, I wasn’t being serious and in fact I expressed that to him. Was I sad they were not full band, sure….but I made sure to thank him for doing them and to keep at it. I thought his taste in music was great and he charted some very highly requested songs.

Same here. And it should be noted that while I am sure he didn’t enjoy people “complaining” about them not being FB it was only after someone gave him tips on charting (which in my opinion was perfectly fine and meant as constructive criticism, only to help) that he actually took all of his drum charts down. It was NOT after someone made a comment wishing one of these songs were FB. Granted, the charting tips may have just been the straw that broke the camel’s back but you are always going to have people, including myself that simply just can’t/don’t want to devote the time to learning charting for various reasons that wish some song had X difficulty or X instrument. Find me a thread where someone posted an incomplete custom and NOBODY said anything or made any comment about how they wish there was X difficulty or X instrument or X feature also added to the song. I am thankful for everything CrazyCanuck posted as it was better than nothing obviously…

For someone that pretty much only plays drums now; I found this topic, his choice of songs, the fact he charted all difficulties, and constantly updated his songs list to be a breath of fresh air. There are too many topics of people announcing projects that never get off the ground. For CrazyCanuck to provide what he did is remarkable (almost on a daily basis).

Thanks for the contributions and hopefully you reconsider so you can share your work with players that truly appreciate your efforts (along with the rest of the hard working individuals out there).

I really enjoyed your customs, I love to play “Fall To Pieces” by Velvet Revolver You did a very good job

+1^^^ loved fall to pieces. Can’t believe all the complaining. This guy put a new custom almost everyday and people still complain!

Alright, you’ll have to excuse me for flying in here, but the CrazyCanuck Defence Force seems to be rallying to defend my countryman from an attack that isn’t happening.

Reading through the recent posts in the thread, I’m not sure what caused Canuck to seemingly rage quit, but I certainly hope it’s not a bevy of clearly written constructive feedback from a C3 author. There are people on these forums that are dying for feedback on their songs, and I do not understanding why a number of — shall we say, prolific — authors are extremely reluctant to be told “you do good work, here’s some advice to make it better”. There’s always going to be someone involved in authoring that’s better than you at something, so feedback should be taken to heart and used to develop. If I’m not doing something right, I definitely want to know how I can do it better, and that should be the mindset people take for this sort of project.

Prior to THAT post, nearly all of the ‘complaint’ posts are from people lamenting the fact that these releases are drums-only who are doing so because the song selection is to their tastes but the charts are not for something that they play. These ‘complaints’ are often accompanied with praise for the author for their devotion, dedication and interest.

You’ll have to forgive me for not buying in to the ‘feel good’ session that’s seemingly going on, but there is a lot of ‘take my ball and go home’ [expletive] that goes on in this community over what I consider absolutely inane rationales. We’re all distraught artists tragically slaving over our craft for intangible rewards and the satisfaction of arbitrary goals and milestones — none of us are unique in that regard.

Most of us aren’t even complaining at all, honestly, so not sure why you’re seeing it that way…we’re cutting up with him, basically jealous that they are only drums, as his song selections were really good ones to us…ones that several people have been waiting to see charted since RB1. If you didn’t notice, he even was cutting up back (note the comment about sobbing he posted when he released Right Now, which shows he knew it was all in fun of people loving his song selections and hoping for FB charters to consider looking into working with him). If anything, his post didn’t come until the critique…he was continuing posting while people mentioned the drums only thing cutting up and praising him….

As someone that makes full band customs for C3 I was eyeing some of these drum charts with the possibility of using them. Drums have always been my hardest instrument to chart and the idea of having them done by someone else is very appealing to me.

Being that drums is my primary instrument of choice I am like a kid in the candy store when browsing the songs in this thread. Its sad to see Crazy Canuck go but it is what it is. Just be thankful that all of this content we authors provide is completely free out of love for this game and music. I have two more songs posting today in memory of Crazy Canuck’s charts.
