Cache deleted, new songs still not appearing

All right, I’ve done a quick search around the forums and I haven’t seen this posted yet. If this has been covered, can someone please provide a link?
This was the first chance we’ve gotten to play the Supertramp songs, so I loaded them up on the stick and started up the xbox. The Supertramp songs will not show up; we’ve even deleted and rebuilt the cache, still nothing. The odd thing is that this isn’t the first time it’s happened either. There was a song last week (and for the life of me I can’t remember which one) that would not load, like no matter what. It also happened with “Friday I’m In Love” and finally after like 3 or 4 cache deletes, it mysteriously showed up.
A few weeks before, we had downloaded a bunch, and only some of the songs showed up. Each time though, every song is still on the stick, but just won’t show up in-game.
The last 2 times, there has been a corrupted saved game in the system files, so we have deleted it both times. I don’t know what’s causing it, or really what’s even happening. It all seems so random. We are at 247 customs on this stick, fwiw.
Hope that made sense. I’m pretty frustrated now and probably not thinking the clearest.
July 31, 2013 at 4:00 am #403717Sorry for your frustration! Hopefully we can help you fix the problem.
Did you download the Supertramp songs in the first ~20 minutes they were live? We had an undetected issue in those versions that we didn’t catch, and we pulled them 20 minutes or so after they went live, but if you got those initial ones, that’s your problem.
July 31, 2013 at 5:21 am #403722this sounds like a case of multiple song caches. you need to make sure you don’t have a song cache on your usb, your hard drive, or the internal storage if you’re using a slim xbox.
beyond that, we’d need more information. are the songs showing up fine on the dashboard? is the file size on the dashboard the same file size it is on your PC? how many songs total do you have? do you have any songs that have similar names that may have conflicting IDs?
July 31, 2013 at 9:52 am #403726I just downloaded the Supertramp songs last night. We have a 2nd xbox for customs, and all information and data is stored on a usb stick; nothing is on the hard drive. We got one of the cheapy 4gb slims, so there’s no room on there anyways. I’ll double check to make sure there is only 1 cache though.
As for the other questions, I’ll most likely have a chance to check that out tomorrow and I’ll update the thread then.

Last time I encountered the corrupted files issue I had (and it was this week end) to format the USB and copy over all stuff…
August 1, 2013 at 5:20 am #403772If you have over 250 songs on your flash drive, Rock Band 3 will only load 250 of them (and mislabel it as 251, despite how many there are on the thing). You’ll either have to swap some songs onto another flash drive or delete some if this is the case. If it isn’t, then IDK, I’m relatively new to this customs thing myself.

Oh man, I really hope I don’t have to go through that all over again.
I’ll give things a look over this weekend; didn’t get the time this afternoon that I’d planned on having. I am going to go ahead and just order a new stick, just in case it does come to that. I did ask my husband and he was pretty sure we only have the 1 cache and it’s on the stick, but just to be sure, I’ll load everything up this weekend and check it out.
I’ve also been meaning to remove some stuff that we either didn’t like or wasn’t a full band custom anyways, so I’ll also go ahead and do that at the same time. Guess it can’t hurt to try.
Thanks so much for your help so far and I’ll update this weekend with some more info. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Actually, if that’s the case, grab the chance and rebuild your stick from scratch but DON’T load any custom. Once your stick is finalised (you have all your profiles, save game, TU4, possible the songcache file with all the RBHP files injected) create a backup or just copy all those files to your computer’s hard disk. Then copy all your customs and start playing. Every time you add customs, copy your songcache file over to your computer.
Now, that way, if anything happenes again to any part of the stick (a corrupt song cache, problems with profiles, etc.), you can simply grab the latest version of the cache or the original version of your profiles, etc. in a blink.
