Got it. Not too computer literate here, sorry.

Make sure you’re getting everything that comes with the Tools and not only the .exe.

Is DevComponents.DotNetBar2.dll in the /bin folder? Go to binconfig and delete main3.config.

If you’re still getting an error at that point, do you have .NET Framework 4.0 installed like the OP says is required? Make sure you do.

im getting tons of ‘file corrupt’ when i try and unzip the .rar.. anyone else having this issue?

Try redownloading. I just re-upped the RAR but it’s extracting fine for me.

            Yes.

Go to binconfig and delete main3.config.

main3.config is not there. There is a main.config. I deleted that, no luck, then put it back. No luck.

            Yes.

I last updated the tools on July 1, and that version worked. After this new version crashed, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but many files still stayed, so I think I may have screwed that up. How do I completely reinstall?

There is no install or uninstall. You remove the old folder and extract the new version to another folder or the same folder that is now empty.

i just re-download and tried 2 different ‘unrar’ programs..both lots of corrupt files…what do you use to ‘unrar’ it?

WinRAR. File on the server is good. Try a different browser. Different computer. It’s not the download.

Definitely on your end. Just downloaded on my wife’s laptop and extracted with 7zip. Worked perfectly. Downloaded on my pc and extracted with winrar and it worked perfectly.

Still lost. I had an old version, 3.6.3 on my laptop. Copied that directory and put it on my desktop. Works fine.

Downloaded 3.8.0 to my laptop, where it works. Copied that directory to my desktop, and crashed again. Here is the newest crash log. So this works on my laptop, not on my desktop. Older versions worked on both.

How do I download an older version of the tools? I would just as soon go back to 3.7.3, which worked, and wait for the next update. Like I said, I’ve got 3.6.3 working, but really need RBtoUSB.

There are no old versions kept online, because I don’t make changes intended to break things.

How are you opening the program? I’ve tested it in multiple computers and it works. So there’s something not typical you’re doing that you need to narrow down if you want me to fix it. Are you just clicking on the c3contools.exe file? or do you have a shortcut with an argument passing to it?

No shortcut. Again, this works on the laptop, but not on the desktop. I’ve downloaded it directly several times, and this version is copied directly from the laptop.
