You’re using the old Xbox formatting, RBtoUSB can’t access the drive. You need to 1) make sure you’re on the latest update to your Xbox dashboard. On the help doc for RBtoUSB it says the version number. 2) format your drive once you have that update. Now Xbox will only take up the space it actually uses, rather than the old way of reserving the entire drive space for Xbox use. This is in the help doc for RBtoUSB. Pro-tip: read before asking questions.
June 15, 2015 at 10:18 pm #448138I thought I was on the new version because I downloaded the system update and then formatted and then re-downloaded the system update, but I guess not.
I’ll compare the version numbers
June 16, 2015 at 2:08 am #448174So here’s the problem. I popped in my hard drive which has the new dashboard. I formatted my flash drive. Then I could copy things to it as intended.
However I don’t play customs with the hard drive in. So when I launch the console with only the flash drive, it tries to make me get system updates, and my RB3 save/cache won’t work because it’s not updated (I put TU4 on the flash drive with RBtoUSB but it seems the system has to be updated or something, not sure).
The issue is I can’t download the console is on the old dashboard (because the hard drive is out), so it thinks the USB storage is not formatted. So I can’t put the system updates on it. If I format it to put the system updates on it, then I can’t copy things to it anymore. If I format it, and then download the system updates, and then re-format it while running the new dashboard I lose the system updates during the reformat and the problem repeats.
Right now I’m trying to get around it by using a second flash drive which has the system updates on it and is formatted the old way, but I think there has to be a better way…
June 16, 2015 at 2:11 am #448175I’m confused as to why you don’t play with the hard drive in.
June 16, 2015 at 2:11 am #448176Maybe there is, but it certainly isn’t a C3 CON Tools issue. You might need to open a new thread to get some insight, although I think I saw this already discussed before.
June 16, 2015 at 2:15 am #448177I’m confused as to why you don’t play with the hard drive in.Because it has my “legit” stuff on it and I don’t want to have to keep erasing TU5 and reapplying TU4 all the time.
I used to just pop in the hard drive and remove the flash drive to play official DLC, and reverse it to play customs.
June 16, 2015 at 2:19 am #448179You know…there is a tutorial on the suggested way of doing things. You choose to do it differently. Then act surprised when things don’t work the way you want.
June 30, 2015 at 4:26 pm #449239I’m back working on the Tools.
If any of you can always get your AV to detect the Tools as a virus or something, PM me. I’m trying to track down the code that’s scaring the AV (I have an idea), but my AV now is deciding to always say it’s safe.
June 30, 2015 at 6:19 pm #449242My AV had no problems.
TrendMicro Business Security had no problem.
I can see what NOD32 does later.
Mbam didn’t pick it up.
That’s all I got.

Why not just keep TU5 on a different flash drive? That way, hard drive + TU5 flash drive = online play for official DLC, while hard drive + TU4 flash drive = full library with customs.
July 1, 2015 at 7:06 am #449263Small request for the Upgrade Bundler. I would love the new “enter a new song ID” prompt to either default to the ID in the right panel if there is one or an option to turn off the prompt and have it work like it did previously. Right now it seems to only default to a song ID from the left panel even when there is not one available and ending up with NOT FOUND IN DTA as a result. Thank you once again for all your hard work and the great tools.
Oh while I am thinking about it the latest xbox firmware that allows formatting of USB connected drives in such a way that allows for RBtoUSB work does that also work with xbox internal drives? That is if I was to reformat the xbox internal drive with the latest xbox firmware and then remove the drive and connect it to a USB bridge would it then work with RBtoUSB? I suspect not but curious just the same.
July 3, 2015 at 6:49 am #449372Hi, first off, I love the C3 tools. But i have a problem with the setlist manager.
When i use the setlist manager to export to Microsoft Excel, if i select “use tier names”, songs rated 8 (using tier numbers) show as “no part”
I like to use tier names to find the songs easier in the game using the same wording.
FWIW 7 seems to equal impossible, but im not sure if 8 is meant to be impossible as well or maybe impossible+.
Thanks.
July 3, 2015 at 6:52 am #449373There is no tier 8. Don’t know why you think there is.

In theory, it should work. There is no inherent limitation to stop it from working, but I have not and will not be formatting my own Xbox HDD to test this theory ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />
July 4, 2015 at 5:58 am #449482There is no tier 8. Don’t know why you think there is.I realise there is no tier 8, which is why i suspect something is wrong somewhere. I have included an image of the 2 spreadsheets, one with tier numbers the other with names. I hope this makes sense. this was from C3CONToolsv373 http://i.imgur.com/i51N2qJ.jpg
When i click on these songs in setlist manager I get an error about “invalidArgument=Value of 8 is not valid for SelectedIndex” I also sometimes get the same worded error but saying the number 7 on other songs
I thought this might have been happening since I just integrated the RBHP changes, but i went back and loaded some of my old cache files, it’s the same, the impossible parts shown in setlist manager as “no part”, this is for DLC and customs.
I just did some testing..
using a cache built with TU4
If i use C3Contoolsv373 i get the above error in setlist manager, and the middle (scrollable section) has “no part” for any “impossible” parts, the bottom section has no text where the word impossible would be.
If i use C3CONToolsv364 i DO NOT get any error in setlist manager, and the middle (scrollable section) has “no part” for any “impossible” parts, BUT the bottom section has the word impossible for the instrument.
I’m not trying to be a PITA, just providing feedback on the great tools that have been provided.
