Press UPGRADE BUNDLER. pull CON into left side box. Pull RBHP files (2-3) into Right sigh BOX. PRESS BUNDLE. The new CON now has harmonies.

So I have a technical issue that I’m hoping someone can walk me through. It’s probably really easy to resolve, but a nice beat-by-beat walkthrough would be great for those of us who don’t always understand this stuff or how it works (read: me).

Owing to a break-up and a console change I have some XBL track packs I need to convert to CONs so I can continue using them. However in doing so I am no longer able to use the RBHP upgrades for these songs (as bundled using the normal RBHP bundler) as they don’t seem to work with the CON’d versions. So how specifically would I go about injecting the RBHP upgrades into the CON’d version of the XBL pack?

I’m curious about a few things, which may have already been answered. Apologies if they were.

    1) If I separate songs from a pack (for example, the Queen pack to get rid of those goddamned non-RB3 versions), will they still be recognized as “official” songs, and able to have scores on the leaderboards?

    2) Same question, except for bundling harmonies with pro guitar/bass files (kind of miffed I can’t play “Something in the Way” pro guitar since harmonies were added). Can I only add unofficial pro upgrades, or could I integrate an official pro upgrade file?

No. Once you modify a file anywhere in C3 CON Tools the resulting file will be made into a CON file, so you can’t use it online. There is no way to modify an existing file without it losing the signature that makes it a valid LIVE file. If there was, we’d all be playing customs online still.

You can bundle anything with anything pretty much. Official vs. custom pro upgrade makes no difference to the tools. You’d just have to get the pro upgrade file off your Xbox and merge it the same way you would with a custom pro upgrade.

Thanks much. I doubt I’ll ever go back to being a true scorewhore, but it’s good that I have options.

I can’t stress enough how stress-free it is once you completely give up online play for a purely TU4 environment. I went from having nearly 2000 items loading at runtime and dealing with usb storage headaches to having packaged everything into a few packs (which loads much faster when the game starts) and just storing everything on my Xbox’s hard drive. I almost never have any problems with this setup.

I’ve all but given it up (however much I’m tempted to go back, considering I was at one point in the top 50 for number of fans, and close to top 60 for total guitar score), but I’ve got a few friends who are still into it, and a few who are just starting off and want that thrill.

Now if only you could read a few posts up where i gave a great analogy as to why that is never going to happen…

You could hand-merge the upgrade pretty easily fwiw. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif”>

As with all new developments, early versions are a bit buggy. Columbo has been putting the Upgrade Bundler through its paces and finding a few issues. I got an update coming out sometime soon with a few things I’ve fixed from the few reports I’ve gotten.

But this thread is unusually quiet. Anybody else having problems with the Tools let me know so I can fix it. Support is back on for the Tools, after all. :excited:

I have read the Help files, the readme, and any thread on this forum that is about C3 Con Tools. However, I am still at wits end on how to merge files using the PS3 converter option within the tool.

The Merge options are not selectable. Is there something I’m missing? Thanks for your help.

You’re missing the steps for that, which are in the PS3 Converter Help file. Ask in the PS3 customs for help as the guys there will be better able to help.

You guys can’t even edit official DLC because of that signature thing? What about how RBHB is loading DTAs. Is that a workaround?
