March 17, 2014 at 5:00 pm #415696The only real issue I am encountering recently is the impossibility to edit a songs.dta file but you are already aware of that.
Yeah should already be fixed and will be in the next update.
I don’t remember what the reason was but it could be that your pack is wayyyyy too heavyProgram should be telling you if it goes beyond 4GB. And I’ve got 17 4GB packs working fine, so at least that high it can (should) go fine.
March 18, 2014 at 10:36 pm #415742ADVANCED ART CONVERTER– Increased resolution of *.png_wii files created by Advanced Art Converter to be 256×256
YES! I’M NOT CRAZY!! I thought the artwork looked low-res compared to official DLC!
EDIT: Will previous C3 releases be getting updated with the new artwork?
March 18, 2014 at 10:37 pm #415743Well, you are kind of crazy. Until that change, album art matched official DLC and game album art up to RB3. It was only post-RB3 DLC that began using 256×256 ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
March 18, 2014 at 10:43 pm #415744It was only post-RB3 DLC that began using 256×256 ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />That’s why I specified “DLC”. The artwork for on-disc songs has always been of lesser quality, and pre-RB3 DLC doesn’t include album art on Wii.
And thank you very much, I’ve been waiting a long time for this change ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

v3.1.1
SETLIST MANAGER
- Added option to 'lock' the program - once enabled Setlist Manager enters read-only mode and nothing can be edited and the program can't be closed until unlocked. This is a great feature if you want to leave it open during a party or event but don't want to risk your setlist being modified
- Replaced icons used on PDF Style 5 with higher quality files extracted from the Rock Band Music Store
- Changed behavior when using for PDF Style 5 to display Pro icons when a Pro chart exists
ADVANCED ART CONVERTER
- Added ability to extract and convert textures found in *.milo_xbox and *.milo_ps3 files (thanks to PikminGuts92 for the source code)
SAVE FILE IMAGE EDITOR
- Fixed bug when exporting composite image that would show the drop-down and buttons for the character information in the image
- Fixed bug when saving modified character name and band name that were shorter than prior name
PHASE SHIFT CONVERTER
- Fixed bug when auto-separating the mogg file for old GHtoRB3 and other songs with non-standard DTA files
PACK CREATOR
- Fixed bug that would count files incorrectly when extracting CON files
- Few other minor fixes and improvements
CON EXPLORER
- Fixed bug that broke adding of new files or replacing existing files in a CON / LIVE file
VISUALIZER
- Fixed behavior so you won't get asked if you want to mark the song as Expert Only when a song has fake pro keys generated by Magma: C3 Roks Edition
GENERAL
- Overall fixes to eliminate most of the problems created by Windows permission issues
- Overall fix to prevent files in use error caused by very specific circumstances when searching a folder for files
Hopefully this addresses most of the issues that were brought up. I have to admit, I’m getting to the point of throwing the [metaphorical] papers in the air and saying “fuck this shit” ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
So let’s hope there’s not too many more issues left
March 19, 2014 at 4:31 am #415765Thanks for all you do, and for not “fucking this shit”. Seriously, thanks a lot.
March 19, 2014 at 5:16 am #415768Yeah, thanks big time. Looking forward to taking another stab at editing once I can borrow another PC (got a Mac and a work-only PC laptop…patience is hard).
March 19, 2014 at 9:53 am #415771Thanks for the Update!!
March 19, 2014 at 10:56 am #415773I hope the few of you that wanted it will enjoy the new feature of extracting textures from Milo files. That was a fun first coding project for me.
March 19, 2014 at 4:50 pm #415783Indeed, thanks to PikminGuts92 for that. He worked on it on his own and when it was ready sent it to me. I just had to integrate it to C3 CON Tools.
While I’m here, let’s talk about what that does. One of our recent updates expanded what was Album Art Converter into Advanced Art Converter when we expanded support for more than just album art. So since then you’ve been able to convert most game textures that were in *.png_xbox format. But that wasn’t all the game textures. A lot of stuff was in the *.milo_xbox files. Between the last update and now this update, you can access virtually 95% of any HMX Xbox 360 or PS3 game textures.
What does that mean? You can now dig through the games files for textures. RB3 alone had over 13,000 new textures that became accessible. I went through them and here’s my “favorite” 750 or so textures. These are either cool, cute, interesting, or weird.
Warning, archive is about 87MB.
March 20, 2014 at 6:11 am #415823Thanks for the update!
I will download the new version when I am done creating this pack I am working on as I type this. Sorry I didnt get back to you regarding my pack creator errors, I have been working my ass off and only have time to eat and sleep. I did find I had one duplicate song on of the packs I created. How I missed that I do not know. I still have an issue with my RB DLC Pack I created for the year 2013, where it doesnt build the songs dta into the pack. I will go into more detail of what I find when I tackle that issue this weekend hopefully.
Again, thanks for all your hard work, dedication, and support.
March 21, 2014 at 12:41 am #415906Sorry if this was brought up before, but on a cursory read of the topic it didn’t seem to show up.
On the quick DTA editor, if the default txt viewer is not notepad, the temp_dta file will open, but the program will think notepad has closed and will proceed with the CON reconstruction without giving the opportunity to actually edit the DTA.
March 21, 2014 at 12:56 am #415907Works fine for me, my default text editor is Notepad++. I switched to to Notepad and worked as well. Problem is somewhere else then.
March 21, 2014 at 3:33 am #415912Hmmm…. I’m using notepad++ too, but I’m still having trouble:
-If notepad++ is not open beforehand, and I fully close it afterwards, everything works nicely.
-If notepad++ is not open beforehand, and I only close the dta tab, the program waits until I fully close notepad++ before proceeding.
-If notepad++ is open beforehand, the dta opens but the program proceeds with rebuilding the package instantly (same as before).
Oh yeah, switching to Notepad makes everything work fine, but I’d rather use Notepad++.
March 21, 2014 at 3:37 am #415913The program starts a process and waits for the process to finish. That means your text editor of choice needs to open when the program tells it to open and needs to close down for the program to detect it closed down. If you’re not meeting these requirements because notepad++ works differently then yes it will screw with the program.
Use it as intended and no problem.
I use notepad++ with no problems because I don’t have it open while working on con tools and I close it rather than only close the tab. Try doing that.
