In theory yes, but I still can’t get the game to recognize the file. Keeps saying it’s corrupt at loading time. My original intention was to have it read. Then this idea of editing came about. May have to give it up, we’ll see <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />

            v2.7.0
            ADVANCED ART CONVERTER
            - Given all the recently and newly added (see below) features, it's no longer appropriate to call it "Album Art Converter", so renamed it
            - Added ability to extract textures from your Rock Band 3 save game file. Drag and drop the file to Advanced Art Converter. Bam. Instantly get your character pictures as well as custom art you have created in the game's art creator
            - Added support for more texture types and expanded support to all Rock Band games and expansion packs, the Rock Band music store app, and all Dance Central games
            - Added ability to copy the current folder to directory or paste a directory to search in. Just right-click on the folder text box at the top
            - Added feature that will remember last directory used and default to it if it still exists next time you run the program
            - Fixed bug that would cause all images to be shifted slightly to the right
            - Greatly reduced and improved the code for higher efficiency and accuracy in the conversion process

            SAVE FILE IMAGE VIEWER (NEW!)
            - Found in Advanced Art Editor -> Advanced
            - Allows you to view your character pictures as well as custom art you have created in the game's art creator
            - All three consoles are supported - see HELP doc for more information
            - You can export all images by going to File -> Export all images or by clicking on the respective image's Export image button
            - Five backgrounds are included for your character. If you want to change them, replace "bg1.png", "bg2.png", "bg3.png", "bg4.png" or "bg5.png" in the /res folder. To export a composite image of your character on the selected background, right click and choose "Export composite image"
            - The code for editing and replacing of images is there, but disabled since the game continues to say the file is corrupt. Hopefully someone else can pick up where I left off and finish it. For now, EDITING IS DISABLED. ONLY VIEWING/EXTRACTING IS ENABLED.

            SETLIST MANAGER
            - Added support for Rock Band Blitz song cache files ("Library Files") - Xbox 360 ONLY (not quite sure if PS3 has a cache for it)
            - To import a Blitz cache, go to File -> Import RB Blitz song cache. You can also add "blitz" to the name of the cache file and then drag and drop it. If you try drag/drop without having "blitz" in the filename it will fail, since it will assume it's a RB3 cache file
            - There are some limitations: Blitz does not keep track of a few fields that RB3 does, so we don't have gender (defaults to Male), master status (defaults to being a master), song length (will show as 0:00), rating (defaults to NR), track number (defaults to 1)
            - Fixed a couple of potential bugs for more stability

            PACK EXPLORER
            - Fixed bug introduced when this tool was strictly for Rock Band use which would change the game ID of any CON file opened to Rock Band 3 by default if it wasn't another Rock Band title - now can open, edit and save CON/LIVE files from other games without affecting the game ID
            - Made the Visualize button only show up when the program can find a songs.dta file in the CON, otherwise it's not a Rock Band song and can't be Visualized

            WII CONVERTER
            - Fixed bug that would create a corrupt VENUE track, which in turn would cause playability issues with some songs
            - Added option to enable/disable the conversion of the venue from RBN2 to RBN1 (enabled by default)
            - Added option to enable/disable the conversion of post processing events (enabled by default)

            VISUALIZER
            - One more bug fix for using our default font. It was requiring you had Myriad Pro default installed, not just the included Myriad Pro Bold. Fixed

            GENERAL
            - Fixed behavior throughout to avoid issues of files being in use when the program scans for CON files

I really, really hope I can stop now. I’ll have you know I’m not addicted.

Also, those of you with keen eyes might notice a little surprise I decided to throw in there at the last minute. It’s not exactly game-breaking, but it’s fun and it was a fun challenge to accomplish in a few hours.

            :c00l:

I’ll have you know I’m not addicted.

Think of it as a temporary marriage, a computer-related problem or task that’s been bugging you for days, you’d really want it off your shoulders. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />

Much praise for this version, folks! :excited:

              By the way, my high score is 1. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />

Obviously you’re giving up too quickly! I got as far as 15 when testing it <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

When enough people show interest, if that ever happens, i’ll write up something on how to make your own game out of it, since most of the graphics can be changed and the “physics” of the game can be modified without touching the code.

Fantastic update. I’m really excited about that venue conversion fix. Finally, the premium of eye-candy backgrounds can be enjoyed by all. And extracting character art… people have wanted that for quite a while.

                  #414031

That is quite impressive. Thank you for all your work. It just keeps getting better.

Am I the only one that gets an error when clicking “CON Creator”?

I get an error and can’t open that option, I’m using Windows 8 64-bits

I already posted that error, but then someone deleted the thread <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />

:what: Goddamn it, I had to fuck it up again. It’s now fixed, re-download.

If “someone” is deleting your thread it is because you’re breaking a forum rule. There’s a few things we don’t allow on here for a variety of reasons. As long as you don’t break those rules, your threads should be fine.

All the feature preview pictures appear to be broken in the thread

That was caused by an issue with the server. Should be working now.

And of course, I can’t release something without leaving a bug or two in. I guess that’s expected when you’re a one-man team working on 30,000 lines of code :wth:

Anyways, here’s a small patch with a couple of things that had been brought up to my attention and one request by someone who’s been too helpful for me to ignore his request.

                      v2.7.1
                      PACK CREATOR
                      - Added advanced option to specify encoding to use with the songs.dta file. Leave this on default if you don't know what you're doing

                      MIDI CLEANER
                      - One more multi-threading bug fix

                      CON CREATOR
                      - Bug fix caused by a stupid misplacement of one line

                      #414137

I’ve had an error with the last few versions of these tools (since 2.5.1 to be precise) where I could not use the MIDI Cleaner on any Guitar Hero MIDI files, as it always refused to clean them and then went to an infinite loading bar. Now in the latest version, I get an error message rather than a loading bar:

Trying to clean MIDI file notes.mid

                      Error cleaning MIDI file ‘notes.mid’

The error says: Cross-thread operation not valid: Control ‘cboLength’ accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on.

                      No files were cleaned

                      Ready

I have found that I can get the Cleaner to work by turning off the zero-length note fix, however this is irritating as that option is very suited for GH files.

                        ffs.

It would be really, really useful to get reports before updates are issued. If you’ve experienced this since 2.5.1, why not mention it then? The last update was precisely to address that issue but applied to other parts of MIDI Cleaner. You’ll have to wait until I can issue another update, whenever that is. I don’t know. Maybe 5 minutes, maybe 2 months. Who knows :ohdear:

                          MIDI CLEANER
                          - Yet one more annoying multi-threading bug fix

                          FLAPPY C3 (Game? Game!)
                          - Fixed reading of configuration values to ignore negative values (i.e. no cheating by setting negative gravity!)
