Yes I used the C3 template.
Did you copy all the notes to their tracks or just imported the MIDI?
Just imported the Midi.

There you go. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”> You need to use the template to author the song, so all notes in the proper track.

Gotch. Looks like I need to figure all that out now. I thought I just needed to extract the Midi, import it, run the CAT and then export the Midi. Looks like I was way wrong. Thanks.
April 20, 2014 at 10:29 am #418328As simple as this tool is deisgned to be, this is still an authors tool, meaning you need to have some basic authoring knowledge and you need to follow a proper authoring workflow.
April 23, 2014 at 12:45 pm #418651If you just click on a button or don’t even bother changing settings, for songs with complex beats it won’t give good results but just a starting base. Not commenting on any single song because I didn’t download any, but the fact that you can say “CAT reductions” as if it was a signature feature makes me cringe even more about that CAT icon that has come to signify “I just pressed a button, results may suck”.I am so glad you created this tool. I have not been able to use it much, yet. You mention settings, is there any particular settings/scenarios, that you as the creator, could point us toward?
By the way, how exactly would changing the tolerance, change the reductions, I did not want to mess with something don’t understand very well.
I do believe as the proper settings and procedures for making well done reductions are discovered, that the reductions will get better. Undoubtedly this is not a click it and forget about it kind of thing, it takes a little more care than that. At this point anyone who figures anything out should share their findings, so we can evolve as a community. United we stand.
April 23, 2014 at 4:17 pm #418660I like to give a minor request if this great tool gets updated; It would be nice if it made an exception in the capitalization checker to ignore the word “I” if it’s in the middle of a phrase. Nothing major, just thought I’d mention it.

I rarely change the default options but the the reasons why you would change them is:
a) For slow songs on drums, to not simplify easy snare
For slow songs in general to change the grid setting for Medium and Hard
c) For fast song to remove the consecutive notes option, otherwise Medium and Hard might be too difficult

April 23, 2014 at 4:30 pm #418664New version is up with:
– Some bug fixes
– HARM3 capitalization recognition
More was probably done but I forgot, so please download to make sure you have all the latest fixes. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

I for one am sorely disappointed with this tool. I finally got around to installing it, after hearing people talking about how much it simplifies the process. I started up the program, and cued up a playlist of songs that I wanted it to turn into customs. When I came back an hour later, nothing had happened! Also, the Popsicle I left next to the keyboard was nothing but a puddle!
I DEMAND a refund.
April 23, 2014 at 8:48 pm #418676You may joke, but there are people out there that think it’s as easy as that. That multi-tracks are just the result of running an MP3 through an audio program.
It will take Farottone at least a few more months to figure out how to do that.

I think I figured it out… it ignores “I”, but not “I#”.

Yes, that is correct. Talkies are so rare I never bothered adding that to the list of words to ignore, I think I’ve encountered it a couple of times in all the songs I processed.
April 27, 2014 at 5:02 am #418944no idea if this has come up before but ived tried this couple times making reduction and useing the whole automated thingy so ill bring it up.
Sometimes when i use the cleanup tool it will fuck up the notes… no idea if this is related to the settings i use but its happened couple times so here it is. Before cleanup this was just a regular chord
Ived allso tried the oppersit where a sustain chord lost one of the sustains so G(regular note) R(sustain) in the same chord, where it originally was a sustain chord.

Quantize your notes. If your notes are unquantized, they won’t be recognised as chords (and Magma will also throw a fit, so you won’t compile the .mid file anyway). If the ARE quantized and you still get the same issue, post the RPP.
