I’m skipping the stupid post titles from now on.
These are all by artists that show up under “Câ€. I came up with a bunch.
The Call – Let The Day Begin

These guys were sort of big in the mid to late 80s and early 90s. It’s a little on the preachy side, but a great track none the less. Michael Been had an amazingly powerful voice.
Carly Simon – Nobody Does it Better

How we don’t have any Carly Simon already is a mystery to me. This has the added benefit of being the theme song to ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’. Try and tell me this wouldn’t be fun at parties.
Charlatans UK – The Only One I Know

A personal favorite from 1990. If you like The Stone Roses, you might like this.

Chilliwack is mentioned in the “required Canadian content†thread, and I’ve asked for them before, but I like this 1981 song so much that I’ll ask for them again. I think that the drums would be a blast, and the rest of the band would have fun, too.
Chris Isaak – Let Me Down Easy

Yet another overlooked artist. He’s got better songs, but this would still make a fun game track.
Christopher Cross – Ride Like the Wind

Here’s some serious schmaltz from 1980. Not that it means anything, but this track rocks harder than anything else on the album. If you brought the drums up from the mud at the bottom of the mix, it might work. Plus it has Michael McDonald on backing vox. Okay, maybe that isn’t a big plus for everyone. I guess there’s a Ron Burgundy tie-in, too.

The only reason this song got stuck in my head is MTV. Did you know that they used to play music videos? Odd little new wave track from 1981.

I can’t remember who turned me on to these guys, but the band is from Austria and I’d call them prog. This track is a fine example of their work. I think if you like the Kiev tracks from RBN, you’ll probably dig this. I couldn’t find a video so I linked to the Amazon MP3 store.
Climax Blues Band – I Love You

More sappy early 80s vaguely-southern rockish even though the band is English stuff. Sorry, I’m a sucker for crap like this.
Concrete Blonde – Joey

Another band that should be party of the game, but isn’t. Johnette Napolitano’s voice always gives me the willies. This would be a great song for vocalists.
Copperpot – Am I the Only One

This is power pop at its very best. If you like AAR or The Downtown Fiction, this song is a must. The drums would be a ton of fun, though way beyond me.
Corey Hart – Sunglasses at Night

Breathless would also be a good choice from this band. But I’m a contrarian and I like this song. I dig chick drummers, too.

Yeah, there are awesome CSNY songs, but this Young-free track is a personal favorite. If I had a boat big enough to play Rock Band on, this would be the first track that I’d play. If it were available.

I suppose MTV is responsible for this one, too. Since Split Enz sort of became Crowded House, I mean. It’s a solid song, too. I just wish it wasn’t a damn disco beat.
