November 20, 2014 at 6:14 pm #433233Thanks. I’ll work on fixing this up. The guitar chart, and the tempo map that came with it, are not mine, hence the funny tiny notes. I changed notes that sounded off, but left the chart untouched otherwise. I like the song, and I’ll try a complete rewrite, with a new tempo map. These are very helpful suggestions.
Use the MIDI Cleaner tool to get rid of 0 length notes, if they actually are 0 length notes.

First, fix the tempo map – then select all notes and quantize note position and length to 1/32.

“Get rid of 0 length notes” = Make them of a proper length. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”> It’s a common process for porting over FoF charts.
November 20, 2014 at 7:57 pm #433243Rather than clean this up, I’ve started rewriting the guitar chart from scratch. I wanted to give credit, but, since it needs so much work, I’m better off starting fresh.
You are teaching a newbie a ton here – thanks.

November 20, 2014 at 8:21 pm #433247I thought the guitar chart was fairly good in most places. Just needs the lengths patched up.
November 21, 2014 at 1:54 pm #433292Here is the new chart – tempo map fixed, note lengths fixed, and much of the guitar re-written:

I have several questions for you. (1) In the beginning, at markers 3.4 and at 5, there are notes that are slightly higher than the preceeding note. Raising those would lead to wrapping at 4.25 and 5.25, which seems inappropriate. At places like 7.3, I fix this with chords, which sounds right there, but there are no chords early in the song. How do you fix things like this? I chose to leave the half-step as the same note.
(2) You say there are guitar solo stabs at 39, 40, and 41. I don’t hear those. Even worse, in the songster guitar tab, there are solo notes played after the chords (at 39.4, for instance), and those don’t seem to be there at all. I left the chords, but if you can hear the solo guitar, let me know what notes you hear, and where.
(3) How do you chart a sustain that lifts at the end? Most pull-ups lead into the note, and those are easy, but, at 65.45, the sustain raises slightly at the end. I charted that, but this seems to violate the spacing required after a sustain.
Finally, this only has x-guitar and tempo changes. I did nothing with the reductions, and haven’t checked to see if the tempo changes have thrown other charts off.
