Five customs for February. First off, one more Dire Straits collaboration with Farottone.

Next up, two songs by Mandroid Echostar. I really want to thank TaxxOUTBR3AKxx for introducing me to this group. I went out and bought their first two albums, and just noticed, today, that they have released a third. Oddly enough, they released instrumental versions and an album with a singer. I prefer the instrumentals, and they are much cheaper, which I really like. So you get instrumentals.

The first is a collaboration with AJFOne23:

The group features three guitarists, Stephen Richards on lead, Sam Pattison playing a combination lead and rhythm, and James Krul on rhythm. Krul’s rhythm is charted to keys, and Richards to guitar.

    Then:

This is a short, guitar only ballad – a really beautiful, fantastic melody. This is my favorite song from both of their early albums. You have to give this one a try.

You will notice, on this link, that they let you “name your own price” to buy the instumentals. Like I said, CHEAP!

Finally, two Joe Satriani tracks. After the success of Surfing with the Alien, he released a strange EP, Dreaming #11. This is a really odd collection. For starters, the song, Dreaming #11, was not included, and didn’t appear for a few more years. The album is mostly three Surfing songs, performed live. These are great pieces, and I would love to convert Memories to Rock Band some day. However, the EP added one studio cut, The Crush of Love, a great track. It was even nominated for a grammy that year. It surprised me that no one has charted this song yet, not even on Frets on Fire.

    Here, then,

Finally, my fourth pick from Flying in a Blue Dream:

Sweet. Heavy Fuel is my mom’s favorite Dire Straits song and it’s pretty enjoyable. Thanks for posting it!

Thanks for Heavy fuel and the 2 Joe Satriani.

For Crush of love, I suppose that key is Rythme guitar ?

bsbloom, i hate to ask, but i requested a song by Mandroid EchoStar in the song requests forum. Would you be willing to do the Ancient Arrows guitar playthrough version? I’ve been wanting something like that for awhile now.

On Crush of Love, is that guitar or keys? Hard to tell. According to my tabs, there are two instruments used for that track, a synthesizer and a DX-7 piano in guitar mode.

Anyway, calling it keys seemed close enough for me.

Juste one mistake : Dire Straits album is “On Every Street”, not “One Every Street” <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />

Sure, why not? Look for it in my next update.

Awesome Satriani stuff, any chance of the flying in a blue dream song?

Thanks. Fixed. You will have to download a new file from the database to get this to show up in the correct album location on your xbox.

That is a very weird error – sorry. Whenever I do another song from an album, I take the first album track and use that as the template for my Magma C3 start. That way, I don’t have to redo all the album info. Occasionally, I have forgotten to change some track, and wind up with the wrong audio, or the wrong difficulty data. I’ve made those types of screw-ups, but I have no idea how I changed the album title.

    Rockin Rindy asked:

Check out page 8 of this thread, or the data base. At your request, I did this one a while back, but did the live version from the Time Machine Album.

No plans to do the studio cut as well – to me, the live version is much better.

Thanks for Satriani songs! Never heard about this guy before!

Played both songs on drums and found one thing – in “The Crush Of Love” there is a drum note missing on Expert drums, but it does exist on Pro-drums. I’ve opened midis in Reaper and thats 5.2.50 moment and so on, dont know if its synched same way though, there is a pic:

Could you please change those Yellow+ProYellow to Green+ProGreen, so it will appear as Green pad at Expert difficulty on my 5-lane Band Hero drums kit? Or this will ruin accuracy of the track for Pro-drums users?

PS i forget to load color map before making a screenshot, thats why kick is green instead of orange.

@ para-dox: I don’t really know how to help you here. First off, drums are very far from my expertise – I don’t play drums, and so can’t test them.

The chart you showed (which is slightly moved over – the crash cymbal is at the start of measure 4, not at 4.3) shows a yellow tom marker at 5.2.5 These occur throughout the song – at measure 4.4.5, 8.4.5, 12.4.5, 16.4.5, and so on. I use the yellow pro-tom marker for the high tom, and green, which you would prefer, for the low tom. This note is played, I believe, on the high tom, so shouldn’t be changed.

No idea why it wouldn’t show up in standard drums. What about the other similar spots? Do those show up? The note is there in my Reaper Standard Drum Preview window.

By the way, Satriani is a genius – glad you like him. Check out Surfing with the Alien or Satch Boogie from Harmonix. I have also charted a bunch of his songs, but not at that Harmonix level.

Because for standart drums you put this as a yellow note <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

    Paint mad skillz inc:

I can imagine only one solution – by changing those Yellow+ProYellow to Green+ProGreen (in your Reaper, dont forget that colors are messed in this picture).

Only this note and this sound is bothering me – everything else is perfect.

Anyway, dont worry much about this, maybe im just trippin :v: We can wait a bit for some experienced charter opinion.

OK, I get it now. The note shows up, but, since it is yellow amid a sea of yellow cymbals, it plays poorly in standard drums.

Yes, it might make a lot of sense to use a different tom for this. I will ask a drum chart expert.
