August 2, 2013 at 3:28 pm #403884U2! Awesome!
Is the Nightwish song a From the Vault release? I know I already have it. Not sure where it came from.

Nope! There’s an old one out there by DeadCanadian and TrojanNemo, but this week’s release was authored 100% by RyanHYK.
August 2, 2013 at 8:31 pm #403920Wow, U2 is definitely one of those big artists missed by RB. Plus, they’ve got lots of recognizable hits. I’ve actually wanted Bloody Sunday for some time. I just wonder why that backing string instrument wasn’t charted to Keys, as was my assumption.
And also, the Wii convert for the week. I know I’ll be using it.
August 2, 2013 at 11:29 pm #403930Holy…..(passed out)…..THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH!!!!
I have been dying for U2 releases since the original Guitar Hero games! Great selection that I cannot wait to play tonight. I can’t thank you guys enough!
August 3, 2013 at 3:02 am #403946I don’t want to be a discouragement, but the vocals on the U2 pack could all use another pass to add slides where they are missing (for example, the word “Love” in “One” during the preview video,) lengthen slides that are too short, and correct some wrong notes (“We’re” as in “We’re one”.) Sorry I couldn’t be a play-tester on this pack. Nevertheless, a pack of 7 songs is still a huge accomplishment! But please consider improving them some more. This is U2 after all.
Vocals are the hardest thing to chart and can be a real pain sometimes and are very time consuming. I’m by no means the best vocal charter, but I think this is the primary area of customs that needs to be brought up to higher standards.

Sorry I couldn’t be a play-tester on this pack. Nevertheless, a pack of 7 songs is still a huge accomplishment! But please consider improving them some more. This is U2 after all.The tracks were given a vocals pass after recording (I did six, pksage did one), though I’ll admit that mine were rushed given I didn’t have a ton of time. A lot of the timing/pitch issues were cleaned up, and I adjusted/added a few slides, but they certainly do still require another pass.
If you’ve got specific examples from the released tracks (and not the video), feel free to submit bug reports.
August 3, 2013 at 11:44 am #403964There is way too much to fix to be specific without spending many, many hours on it. I like U2, but not that much. I played the songs in the game and not just the video, but the video demonstrates many of the problems and is a ready reference. Some songs are better than others and are playable. But my favorite “One” unfortunately is unplayable. I’d be happy to give that one extensive play-testing and maybe even provide fixes and detailed bug reports for it.
August 3, 2013 at 12:29 pm #403965but the video demonstrates many of the problems and is a ready referenceNo, no it is not. If you haven’t been paying attention, the videos are only for demonstration purposes and may contain authoring errors that are typically, and in this case, were, fixed prior to release.
Try again.

I won’t say it was a perfect clean-up, and playing “One” back this morning I do note a few spots that may be more problematic than others, but none should be combo breakers and the chart should certainly not be unplayable. I didn’t get a chance to test the revised product in game, and will try to do so this afternoon, but if there’s anything making it “unplayable” it should be patently obvious without being required to go over the .rpp with a fine-toothed comb, so please submit a bug report or in a pinch drop me a PM and I will look into it.
P.S. For reference for anyone else that does find issues with these charts:
- Category / Song
- Pick the song you’re reporting bugs for. That’s it!
- If you’re reporting a bug for RBHP or any song converted from Guitar Hero by GHtoRB3, use the appropriate categories. We don’t list every one of those songs, because holy crap would there be a ton of them.
- If you’re experiencing issues that don’t relate to a specific song, use the “Download / Web Issue” category.
[*]Instrument / Issue
- Pick the instrument or area this bug applies to. Categories that aren’t instruments include “Metadata” (album art/etc.), “Tempo Map”, and other stuff.
- Please submit separate bug reports for issues on different instruments.
[*]Summary
- Enter a short and descriptive title for your bug.
- Good summary: “Relative pitch issues during guitar solo”
- Bad summary: “Guitar chart is wrong”
[*]Description
- This is it — your chance to tell us what we did wrong. There are some important guidelines here.
- Don’t be a dick. We’re humans, and this isn’t a full-time job. No one likes having their song torn apart by the wolves, so be polite when reporting bugs.
- Mention where in the song the issue occurs. While we appreciate hyper-specific times (like an MBT), “in the first verse” or “in the bridge” is good enough. If an issue repeats throughout the song, say something like “the pattern in the choruses”.
- Be as specific as possible! The more info you give us, the more likely your bug will be fixed, and fixed quickly.
- A good description: “Near the beginning of the first chorus, the riff in Expert Guitar doesn’t seem to match the audio. I hear an extra note after the B O B hammer-ons. This pattern repeats throughout the song.”
- A good description: “In the second verse, the vocal tubes for the word ‘party’ are too long.”
- A bad description: “The drums are charted wrong in the chorus.”
[*]Upload File
- If you want to be really awesome, you can extract the song’s MIDI, fix the issue yourself in REAPER, and attach the fixed MIDI to your bug report.
- You can also attach a screenshot of the error in REAPER, or even a photograph of it happening in-game, if you’re so inclined.
We are aware that there are some issues, but there should be nothing game-breaking. Specific feedback will help us track down and address these issues, so please use the bug tracker and submit reports that are as detailed as possible. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
August 3, 2013 at 12:39 pm #403968Right. Why don’t we take this to the playtesting or author discussions forums, since it’s where discussions between authors should take place?
August 3, 2013 at 12:41 pm #403969but the video demonstrates many of the problems and is a ready referenceNo, no it is not. Well, like I said, I also played all of these songs in the game since they were released. Using “One” as an example, the preview demonstrates the problems in general with the whole pack. Some songs are better than others, but those specific issues with “One” are still there.
