It could be that I forgot to bundle the keys upgrade into the PG part. You’re not really missing out on much — it’s more of a novelty upgrade than anything.
This is the part where I’d like to sit down and re-code the packager to take things in a more modular fashion, so that each ‘instrument’ set was its own .mid file and we just merged them all together before bundling, but I don’t have the time to sit down and play with it in the code at this point. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
October 22, 2014 at 5:11 pm #431445Hi espher
I’ve been adding upgrades to my files directly via upgrade bundler and then decided to add album art to official songs that are covers. To get these to work in game I’ve had to create custom song ids or the on disc dtb file will overwrite my changes.
The trouble I have now is that I may lose tonic information and lip sync contained data in the milo files. Is there a way of ripping the dtb file off the disc so that I can check this information and then insert it manually into my updates?
October 22, 2014 at 10:27 pm #431464LiesLiesLies isn’t working for me. The game hangs on LOADING… but the game isn’t frozen because the loading icon is still moving. I’m trying this with my HD removed, on a fresh flash drive and only this update. The other Ministry upgrades worked fine but I don’t know what’s up with this one.
Actually, it may be a problem with my Ministry pack file. I’m going to redownload it and check again.
Yep, it was my pack. It was foolish of me to doubt the great espher! Never again.

There’s a way, but I don’t know it offhand. I also don’t have the ‘originals’ anymore — I dumped it all to another file for ease of me merging it and accidentally erased the original files when cleaning up.

October 29, 2014 at 11:33 pm #431831Quick question about the Keys upgrades. If I download just the Keys upgrades from the spreadsheet, does that include any harmony upgrades that have also been made to that same song?
October 30, 2014 at 12:16 am #431834Just saw the video for Foreplay/Longtime go up on the twitter and the thumbnail has a keys chart in it.
Yesssssssssss.
Also, I ran into an issue with the upgrade bundler and Lies Lies Lies by Ministry, it says some midi note has a value > 128 and then chokes. Is that an issue with the tool (in which case, not your area) or is there actually a janky value in the file? I’ve bundled nearly all the DLC (I don’t want to bother with the cache building and it lets me make a master thumb drive that’s way more portable when I have everything just bundled) and this is the only file (so far, still have 2008 to finish) that has had this issue.
Thanks for all the hard work!
October 30, 2014 at 3:15 am #431839Quick question about the Keys upgrades. If I download just the Keys upgrades from the spreadsheet, does that include any harmony upgrades that have also been made to that same song?It should, yes. But to be sure, the DTA should have the vocal_parts line and have a 2 or 3 and the midi should have harmony parts in it.
October 30, 2014 at 3:22 pm #431855Quick question about the Keys upgrades. If I download just the Keys upgrades from the spreadsheet, does that include any harmony upgrades that have also been made to that same song?Currently,
– RBN pro drums are on their own
– harmonies include RBN pro drums if applicable
– pro guitar/bass includes harmonies and RBN pro drums if applicable
– keys includes pro guitar/bass, harmonies and RBN pro drums if applicable
– fixes generally only include harmonies and RBN pro drums if applicable
I would like to eventually take the time to rewrite this whole shebang so that you feed individual instrument (or instrument group) .mid files into it and the packager bundles them together to make it more modular.
Re: LiesLiesLies – sounds like an issue w/ the .mid file. If I don’t forget I will try to take a look at it.
October 31, 2014 at 1:47 pm #431911As I posted in the ps3 thread, I managed to get harmony and pro-upgrade to works on ps3, but I have to modify the original songs “songs.dta”. Sure its a pain, but at least it works. I was wondering, taking into account the info in the post just above me, which I should use to get the most out of RB:HP?
According to the post above, I should use the pro g/b update when available, then keyboard, then harmonies and then last if nothing else available, RBN pro drums.
But what about fixes, I don’t know if there is any songs at the moment in this case, but what if a song has fixes (with harmonies or not) and also a keyboard update/pro g/b?
I’m guessing if the fix is a song info only fix, then I could just mix and match lines in the songs.dta, but chart fix is what I’m worried about.
October 31, 2014 at 2:20 pm #431913If you’re looking to mix and match multiple parts, you’d have to import them into a DAW (e.g. REAPER), delete any duplicate/redundant tracks (except for the duplicate easy pro keys part in an RBHP pro keys file!), re-export the combined .mid, and merge the .dtas.
re: getting it working on the PS3, I’ll go skim your post. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>
October 31, 2014 at 6:53 pm #431928Thanks for the 7 keys upgrades for this round’s of RB:HP updates!
October 31, 2014 at 7:09 pm #431931Another question, I don’t have a list of all the songs I have at the moment but if I were to just copy ALL of the RB:HP upgrades released would it affect anything to have upgrades in the upgrade file that is built for songs I don’t have? Will that mess up any other upgrades for songs I do own?
October 31, 2014 at 11:22 pm #431939They may count against the song limit, so if you’re close, I’d cull them.
Also it was pointed out to me that one of the folders (probably the pro keys one I put together last night) is named ‘wontgetfooledagain’, when it should be ‘wontgetfooled’.
I’ll fix it tomorrow, but for now, consider manually renaming it in your local copies.
