December 19, 2013 at 2:11 am #410854I don’t know what’s happened when I’ve tried to put a few updates over, for the first time, but now when I try to play the songs they just freeze up.
What do I delete to get everything back to normal? Deleting the song cache didn’t work.
All I wanted was the Duran Duran harmonies!
Deleting the cache should get everything back to normal (assuming you removed the RBHP files), as it rebuilds it from scratch.
Songs freezing on load generally indicates a problem with the .mid or a missing .mid. I had a weird issue last release where every song was freezing for me when I included No Doubt’s “New”, but that seems to have fixed itself with the batch I was testing tonight. I don’t know if there are magical total numbers of songs/upgrades that cause it.
December 19, 2013 at 9:57 am #410868Well after hours of messing, and trying time and time again, deleting the cache etc, I tried it with a different USB stick and it worked like magic the very first time.
I hang my head in shame. And yet how awesome for the Christmas party that some now have harmonies. I’m looking at you Duran Duran and Fleetwood Mac.
Thanks for this. Much appreciated. I just wish I’d found it ages ago, and not yesterday. For some reason I thought it was for RBN songs which are generally by people I’ve never heard of, so I didn’t bother!
December 20, 2013 at 4:46 pm #410964Hey espher, quick question regarding the optional upgrades – are there any songs that have more than one of the keys, pro guitar or chart fixes? And if so, which one do we take from the ‘downloads’ folder if we want everything?
edit: Also, is there a post somewhere that explains how to combine the RBHP upgrades with Harmonix’s pro guitar upgrades?
December 21, 2013 at 5:36 pm #411004Hey espher, quick question regarding the optional upgrades – are there any songs that have more than one of the keys, pro guitar or chart fixes? And if so, which one do we take from the ‘downloads’ folder if we want everything?Any ‘optional’ upgrades include everything base. At this point I don’t think there are any tracks that double-dip, but if there were, the order of ‘density’ would go “base -> dta fixes -> other fixes -> keys/pro keys -> pro guitar/bass”, each of those including everything that came before it. It’s clunky but — at this time — I don’t have something in place to allow you to select and merge components, though I was working on it at one point.
edit: Also, is there a post somewhere that explains how to combine the RBHP upgrades with Harmonix’s pro guitar upgrades?Merge the two .mids and re-export. Use the songs.dta form RBHP. Use the upgrades.dta from the official upgrade. Put it in your input folder replacing the normal harm upgrade and package.
December 21, 2013 at 10:18 pm #411012For the second question, using LeFluffie’ pro bundler with an official song and its official pro G/B upgrade, and then use RBHP upgrade file to add harmonies should also work, right?

Probably? ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif”>

I think he’s asking if that song is done? Yes I know it’s not in RB!
January 10, 2014 at 4:48 pm #411990Congrats on getting all of DLC07 done guys! Great job as always. I check these updates every release and download the updates for the songs I have and wanted to say I appreciate that this project is going on and has been for so long. Special thanks this week for keys for the Gorillaz songs. I hope the keys updates keep coming along with the harmonies!
January 10, 2014 at 10:47 pm #412024I guess that was my attempt of a song request.
It is a shame that custom keyboard upgrade kills the animations. That was the first upgrade I tried. Actually got it to work with the customs on the hard drive.
Going to try to add some harmonies now… wish me luck!
January 11, 2014 at 1:11 pm #412054Alright, folks. Time to kick off 2014!
Here’s the latest release, as revealed on ZE BLOG yesterday by pksage. This release has a number of excellent, excellent harmony charts that may normally be overlooked. The Futureheads, Liz Phair, and The Grateful Dead’s “Uncle John’s Band”, in particular, are standouts for me.
This release is a notable one for me in that the Punk Pack 01 release finishes off the planned upgrades for 2007 (unless I missed harmony parts in the songs we didn’t do — feel free to double-check). We’re making progress, slowly but surely, and are on our way to hitting our intended target of Christmas 2015 for project completion.

The next release is due for January 31st, and has a few of the tracks that were suggested/requested when I did polling on Twitter, Facebook, and from the RBHP request thread, so I’m sure some people will be happy with that one. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
January 11, 2014 at 4:28 pm #412066Yes! Been waiting for Calling Dr. Love to get harmony treatment. Thank you very much for that!
January 11, 2014 at 6:28 pm #412069Yes! Been waiting for Calling Dr. Love to get harmony treatment. Thank you very much for that!OMG, you like KISS and you can author RB tracks. You are like a superhero to me. Any chance you might try your hand on any custom tracks from these newly inducted hall of famers? I was trying to learn to author myself a few months back using an early track of their’s called “She” (one of my favorites. real bad ass on all instruments too. just sayin’), but sadly I couldn’t quite wrap my head around the whole thing. I still think I might be able to figure it out if I can dedicate the time, but been way too busy with stupid real life crap to delve back in.
Anyway, to veer the ship back on course, harmonies on Dr. Love is awesome. I always felt that it was one of their strong points. Especially live (on most nights).
