April 13, 2013 at 8:19 pm #398353‘Psycho’ plays great in RB3, including harmonies, but it doesn’t have the vocal_tonic_note set. Pretty sure it should be F Minor (vocal_tonic_note 5, song_tonality 1).
Apologies if this report is in the wrong thread; this song isn’t listed on GHtoRB3 or the list above.
Thanks for a great release ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
April 13, 2013 at 8:23 pm #398354Thanks for that note.
You will find that most customs do not follow the short-lived RB3 convention of using those markers. My understanding is that most RBN songs also stopped doing that shortly after RB3 came out because it was found to be more work than it was worth.
Is that something you find particularly beneficial? As I said, almost no custom out there uses this with the exception of the GHtoRB3 songs, so it’s unusual to see this comment.
April 13, 2013 at 8:37 pm #398355As a vocals player, I find it very useful, particularly for new or unfamiliar songs. Otherwise, the guidelines that appear on the background of the vocal highway aren’t very useful. I’d like to see them included, especially since all RB3 songs (disc and non-RBN DLC), have them.
Also, on the RBHP project, tone information is standard. I believe the lack of it is considered a bug? In any case, I’d be happy to send a couple updated .dtas with this data added for the recent release, if it would be useful.
April 13, 2013 at 8:45 pm #398356It’s not considered a bug, it’s something that’s up to the individual author because, as Nemo pointed out, this isn’t even a felony for RBN standards, so it’s hardly compulsory for customs. Of course anything that makes the gaming experience better is something we look into, that’s why I said that ultimately it’s up to the authors if they want to devote more time to the process to include this.
April 13, 2013 at 10:15 pm #398357Hey y’all. Hate to bug you on this, but Battle for the Sun and Old Time Rock and Roll both have passwords on the .rar files I can’t seem to find anywhere. Fixing this would be helpful. It also may be a good long term fix to set some submission guildlines for the files or file containers. (i.e. no rar files, rar files but only for “packs”, rar files no password, or rar files w/a password) Consistency is what makes this project so attractive to a lot of folks like me jumping into customs for the first time.
April 14, 2013 at 1:41 am #398358GHtoRB3’s files used to have a password. We’re in the process of migrating them to passwordless files. Use “GHtoRB3” for the time being
April 14, 2013 at 2:01 am #398359The plan is to have everything be .rar’d up, eventually, but without passwords. As mentioned their files used to have a password (I think I added a reply somewhere on the announcement post with the password).
April 15, 2013 at 6:17 pm #398421Not necessarily in a rush, but when can we expect to have versions of Plug In Baby and Old Time Rock and Roll with working Pro Guitar? It would just be nice to have a general time rather than checking randomly.
If the process doesn’t afford you having any way of knowing, that’s fine too.
April 15, 2013 at 6:18 pm #398422I thought those were fixed. Let me check.

I’m sorry for the confusion/lack of communication. Those were fixed and I tweeted an update yesterday morning about them.
April 15, 2013 at 7:17 pm #398426Oh snap; I didn’t catch that. Thank you very much.

April 15, 2013 at 11:22 pm #398431Dunno if you’re already aware of this (I know pksage rocks the thread) but Orange Harrison posted this in the Something Awful Rock Band thread about Old Time Rock ‘n Roll
I tried “Old Time Rock n Roll”Every energy phrase is a unison bonus and they forgot to author energy phrases for Keys.
E: Everything else is top notch though, I hope quality control catches more of these minor mistakes before they sneak through though.
No idea if this was fixed in the recent Pro update, so if it was my apologies. And if it’s not seen as something worth fixing, I apologize as well. Either way keep up the good work.
