April 19, 2013 at 2:39 pm #398554I hadn’t considered how sad life *would* have been without a regular Friday DLC announcement…
Keep ’em coming, guys!
April 19, 2013 at 3:30 pm #398556When I click on The Donnas – Take It Off, I get this. http://keepitfishy.com/d.php?516393c65c623 ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Keep up the good work otherwise! Can’t wait to try the Zeppelin songs…

I get the same message on Jane’s Addiction: Stop!, Alice in Chains: Them Bones and Motley Crue: Shout at the Devil.
Today is the greatest release day in the history of Rock Band. GREAT work guys!
April 19, 2013 at 4:17 pm #398560You guys are pretty much Harmonix 2.0. More and more people are going to convert to the custom scene with epic releases such as Led Zeppelin! Happy Friday!
April 19, 2013 at 4:31 pm #398561Holy Balls.
Well done.
April 19, 2013 at 5:04 pm #398563inb4 we start getting providing “pass” weeks.
Def Harmonix 2.0 at that point. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

April 19, 2013 at 5:31 pm #398567Well, not that it should undermine the accomplishments of Harmonix: they were constrained by legally licensing the songs *and* requiring full multi-tracks for every offering.
So I have *no* doubts that HMX would’ve got Zep if they could. Heck, I imagine ALL the great bands that they probably wanted but just couldn’t close the deal on due to lawyers or missing masters. Perspective due, providing customs is a different sort of game that has a lot more outright freedom behind it.
Not that I turn my nose up at the efforts of C3: I’ve been waiting for a group to draw a line in the sand and say, “We’re going to give you only the best.” I’m totally behind that mission statement, but I’m snobby and will probably confine myself to primarily releases with multi-tracks for all available charts! (or at least drums, heh…)

There is no doubt that Harmonix would have provided Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Guns ‘N Roses, etc. had they been able to license their songs. We are just trying to keep the game alive by doing what Harmonix couldn’t do because obviously we are playing on different playing fields. However, multitracks AND world famous artists can be achieved, as you’ve seen with Pantera and as you will see in the future…
April 19, 2013 at 6:11 pm #398570I can’t believe over the last few weeks I’ve loaded like 3 or 4 entire new game’s worth of songs into Rock Band.
With songs actually releasing day & date with the Friday announcements, it just makes it all the more awesome.
You can actually play the newest songs over the release weekend.
I finally got around to actually playing some songs last night, after slowly scanning through this embarrassment of riches in game, and wow, most are on par, if not better than official HMX dlc. Polished, quality tracks.
Even a lot of the ones that aren’t, it’s a negligible difference.
I know we wouldn’t have any of this at all without Harmonix in the first place and they certainly had more obstacles to deal with when creating & distributing content, but you guys are killing it in ways they just weren’t able.
Being able to put together a set list in Rock Band of The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, & Haddaway is just not something I’d ever have thought possible. Not in my lifetime.
The future is here.
I’m loading up todays tracks to add to the few hundred other new ones sitting on my Xbox and I’m going to go check out a good clip of them tonight. Thanks again to all the charters for your hard work.
You guys are made of win.

Can’t wait: I expect good things a’comin’!
April 19, 2013 at 7:33 pm #398574Man nearing $400 worth of songs released in a single day… maybe $350 with track pack discounts. So glad Harmonix never had a DLC release day like this. Don’t think I would have been able to keep up. Thank you everyone involved. You guys are keeping my Fridays bright!
April 19, 2013 at 9:10 pm #398581What an amazing release! Can’t wait to play them all tonight, household responsibilities be damned!
I simply cannot express how thrilled I am with what C3 is doing. The weekly announcement/release schedule, the song choices so far, the quality of the releases, the website and your involvement with the community, it’s all top-notch, really impressive stuff.
I’m not ashamed to admit I love RB maybe a bit too much, and hearing the end of DLC was a dark day for me. I would have never guessed for as bright a future as I am seeing unfold here, thank you so much for your efforts, and please, keep up the great work
