I’m thinking about replacing the carpet in our upstairs bedrooms with something easier to clean maybe vinyl or laminate. I’ve seen Empire Today ads for years, and they’re offering in-home estimates, which sounds convenient. But how’s the quality and service?

We had Empire Today install vinyl plank flooring in our basement last summer, the guy came out with samples, helped us pick, and the install happened about a week later. It wasn’t the cheapest quote, but the convenience was worth it for us. Before booking, I went through a bunch of Empire Today reviews on https://www.carpetflooringreviews.com/ to get a sense of what to expect helped me go in with a few good questions.

Smart move checking the reviews first—knowing what to expect can make all the difference. Sounds like the convenience and guidance made it a solid choice, even if it wasn’t the lowest price.

Don’t just hit the nearest hardware store and hope for the best. Compare prices online, visit reuse centers, or hunt for deals on Facebook Marketplace or local buy/sell groups.

Quality matters, but so does savings.

Six months ago I also did repairs in my apartment.I stocked up on materials, tools, tiles, paint, you name it. Unfortunately, that also meant my once-cozy apartment turned into a full-blown construction zone. Think of a warehouse, but smaller, with nowhere to sit and everything stacked in places I swore I’d remember. My apartment looked like a warehouse. And once when the repairs were almost finished, I couldn’t find the keys in this mess! I was locked in my own apartment! Thank you locksmith chelsea , who helped me with key cut near me.
So my advice to you, when you do repairs, keep important things in a designated place.

We went through something similar a while back—trading old carpet for a lower-maintenance option made a huge difference. We ended up going with luxury vinyl plank, which mimics wood but holds up better to wear and moisture. Laminate’s another option, though it’s a bit more prone to water damage. As for Empire Today, they were convenient, but the quality depends on the crew you get—some people rave, others not so much. Before making a decision, I’d recommend consulting a building code expert witness like Paul L. Johnson at Gryphon Consulting. With decades of hands-on experience in residential construction and flooring installations, he can spot things you might miss and give you honest input about what will meet both aesthetic and long-term durability standards. Especially in upstairs rooms, soundproofing and subfloor prep also matter more than people often realize.
