Hi everyone. I’m making customs for personal use, might as well share them! I’m playing them on phase shift, and they will be updated from time to time. If anyone wants to pack and upload them for RB3 xbox feel free, but I’m guessing most of you know how to do this anyways. For those who are on wii, you won’t have to unpack them

All of them only has expert difficulty.
Here is what I got done now:

The Black Mages – Battle Scene (Final Fantasy I)
I’d need to verify because I did that one a year ago, but I think it has everything except pro keys. (Pro guitar/bass/drums included for RB, and real drums for PS)

The Black Mages – Clash on the Big Bridge (Final Fantasy V)
Same as above, old custom, about a year old. I think it has all basic instruments done, possibly pro guitar/bass, again, I’d need to verify.

The Black Mages – Dancing Mad (Final Fantasy VI) **LONGER THAN 10 MINUTES**
Freshly done, Pro keys/guitar, and regular drums aren’T fully accurate yet, but very playable. pro bass, guitar, bass and keys should be good to go.

    Ill take a look later

Sorry to ask a dumb question, but how exactly can you xbox-ify stuff like this? I’d be super happy to play Dancing Mad on pro keys

    #421733

I’ve never actually packed for xbox, but as far as I know, you have everything you need minus the album art. The song however is over 10 minutes, so I don’t know a way around magma for that, I can search around and see if I can find information on that. I will edit this post if I do .

Edit: I didn’t have to search far it looks like, C3 has the solution: http://forums.customscreators.com/viewt … f=12&t=381

If you get it working, I would be very happy to have feedback from RB3 players, I’m not too sure about the scrolling, it might have some notes appearing outside your range (you should be able to hit them anyways).

Yeah, I was trying to use Magma, but the 10 minute thing.

I’m sure I need to use CON tools instead, I am trying to emulate the file structure of customs that I know work, but I I’m missing a .dta file and a milo_xbox (or whichever it is… I think this is the album art) file; I’m currently trawling through the ten billion posts in the authoring forum looking for details about “how to get a workable con from an ogg and a mid” but there is a lot of stuff to go through.

Yeah, I was trying to use Magma, but the 10 minute thing.

Do none of you guys use C3 Magma? You are missing out on no 10 minute limit, maximum of 50 directed cuts instead of 20, Pro Guitar/Bass support, drum fill sound selector, 2x Pedal and Single Pedal in one compile, RBA automatically converted to CONs, MIDI Checker, MIDI Cleaner, it’s superior in any way and should fix a lot of your problems

    #421746

That sounds nifty, I’ll be sure to check that out.

These are probably questions you guys have had to answer a million times by now… at least it’s way easier than the old days. I remember the old GHEX support area on Scorehero back in 2008 or 2009… now that wasn’t pretty!

Using the old Magma is a big no-no. The amount of stuff added, including new failsafe checks, makes it essential for authoring.

      Using old C3 Magma ftw

      1.1.2 … one love

      #421762

Well, I tried compiling your stuff with Magma, but I got

ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (): Tempo marker at [180] (24.919531 bpm) is too slow; minimum is 40 bpm

ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (MIDI FILE): Track EVENTS required but not found

ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (MIDI FILE): Track BEAT required but not found

ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (MIDI FILE): Halting validation due to missing and/or extraneous MIDI tracks

      No idea. I’m still learning.

      #421763

That means the MIDI is missing the EVENT and BEAT tracks, which are needed for the song to work (please use the C3 template and read the docs about this). For the tempo marker, the allowed tempos in a Rock Band chart are 40-300bpm, anything below or above that will make Magma spit out a error. To fix this, try doubling the notes in the BEAT track for the part where this occurs until the tempo is back to an allowed amount and see if that works.

MaybeI shipped the wrong midi then. I use EoF to chart (minus pro keys, obviously) and it gives me a number of midi files, for different situations (EoF supports RB so I figured it should pack fine). The mid I rared with the song used to work on RB2. (On old version of EoF, that is)

Here’s Dancing Mad with another midi file (hopefully the good one) : http://www.mediafire.com/download/tz7zb … _(new_midi).rar

I tried it with that one, got this:

      #421810

      its blatant easy fixes

the bmp that is 24bmp needs to either be fixed by messing with the BEAT track or you can do it the messy cheap way by changing the 24bmp to 40 and then add or subtract bmp from the tempo change prior to the 24bmp change to synch. Last method only really works if there is no notes between the two tempo changes for and the tempo change last for a short period. What i useally do is re tempo mapping the whole thing…way to messy to adjust stupid BMP changes by lazy people.

The rest are piece of cake all the (is before xxx time) can be fixed by either changing the bmp tempo before the tempo change that start with the first note. Or you can run it through EOF where you add leading silence(add 2000-3000), then reset offset to zero and then adjust tempo to RBN and save the mid and re import it into reaper and adjust the sound track.

Overlapping or too-close gems at [17] for difficulty expert : go to the area and see if notes are stuck together zoom in and split em.

MIDI events at [347] after the end event at [347] : In the EVENTS track zoom all the way in to the end event then go out and turn on SNAP and make the BEAT track snap so no midi event happens after the end event.

I never do vocals but its pretty obvious what you need there.
