Fantastic. This is turning out to be my favorite month of all time!! As Zepplin said it best, ‘Thank you’
February 10, 2018 at 2:22 pm #495258February 10, 2018 at 2:23 pm #495259You have released many great songs, so far for Amour month!
Thanks to everyone involved!
February 10, 2018 at 8:30 pm #495268Thanks everyone. I couldn’t believe the Zep II tracks weren’t done. It’s so close to being complete now.
February 11, 2018 at 8:04 am #495287LATEST UPDATE 2/11 – AMOUR MONTH DAY #11 The Lemon Twigs 3 pack; Maroon 5
GUITAR/VOCALS: kueller
BASS: egead
STANDARD KEYS: EmotionalFlight“I Wanna Prove To You”, is a perfect introduction to the insatiable appetite for pop that runs through the entirety of Do Hollywood. The fingerprints of The Beach Boys, in particular Brian Wilson, are all over this track, from the incredible harmonies down to the jangly guitar melodies. But they’re not afraid to mess around with the formula and, thanks to their bountiful multi-instrumental skill, produce sounds that seem familiar yet simultaneously other-worldly.GUITAR/VOCALS: kueller
BASS: egead
STANDARD KEYS: EmotionalFlight“Baby, Baby,” is one of the albums’ stand-out tracks. It starts with a muted bass line over a slow, easygoing tempo that emphasizes the chorus: “Baby, baby why you so angry at me / I’ve done all I can do, now I’m feeling blue/you know I’m not angry at you.” Sung by most bands, these lyrics would run the risk of sounding too precious, but the stylistic choices of the Lemon Twigs make it appealing to the ear. Just when you think they’re about to sit into the song, they jump into a dance-y, up-tempo interlude, before settling back into the chorus.GUITAR/VOCALS: kueller
BASS: egead
STANDARD KEYS: EmotionalFlight“These Words”. A skittish piece of pop genius, with an erratic need to jump from genre to genre every other second, it’s the perfect display of the brothers’ music proficiency. Honky-tonk pianos sit alongside fuzzed up riffs, before leading into a belting arms-aloft chorus.GUITAR/BASS: BattlePenguin
VOCALS: EchoOfMystery
STANDARD KEYS: EmotionalFlight“Sunday Morning” is an upbeat, soulful love song that boasts poetically romantic lyricism and an impressive jazz ensemble, complete with a piano solo and a saxophone solo. This song has excellent imagery with lyrics like, “Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable, you twist to fit the mold that I am in.” I recommend not watching the music video, because the picture you paint in your head, according to the lyrics, is likely much better than the music video. Keep the mystery of the music alive by using your imagination. This song is just a brilliant collaboration of beautiful lyricism combined with soul-stirring instrumentals.February 11, 2018 at 9:39 am #495288Another set of win. Thank you.

I feel like an opportunity was missed somewhere. Nonetheless, I’m glad to have those four songs in my library now. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

You missed the charting boat but I think you’ll enjoy today’s Lemon diet.
February 11, 2018 at 6:54 pm #495301Even though there ain’t a lemon in the mix,….award winning, world famous lemonade anyone?
Thanks AJFOne, kueller and company! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />February 11, 2018 at 8:45 pm #495307Must say, I wasn’t familiar with the Lemon Twigs but I’ve heard the songs and they’re great (particularly ‘Prove’ and ‘These Words’). Thanks so much.
February 11, 2018 at 8:50 pm #495308The Lemon Twigs are a band I’ve wanted to see in the game but I could not have done these alone, so I was happy to contribute what I could. AJ did fantastic work on the drums and keys and I can’t wait to see what the finish product looks like with the other contributors.

Here’s how I found them. I was binging on Nardwuar and they popped up ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Thank you so much for your work on these tunes. I’m really happy to full band these guys.
February 12, 2018 at 2:45 am #495315Funny story how I heard them, there’s videos of them when they were 13 covering My Chemical Romance songs, and they were really good (the guitarist, drummer, and keyboardist would all be future members).
If you dig around that channel you can actually find an early version of These Words.
February 12, 2018 at 8:10 am #495323LATEST UPDATE 2/12 – AMOUR MONTH DAY #12 Grateful Dead – Till the Morning Comes
GUITAR/BASS: mrcoupdetat
VOCALS: EchoOfMystery
One of the finest showcases of the Grateful Dead’s newly found strength as harmony vocalists, the unison singing throughout is quite sparkling. All of this is framed around a buoyant folk-rock melody and energetic rhythm. Lyrically, it’s one of the band’s most obvious love songs, and the feeling of commitment in life-affirming romance is more than apparent. All in all, one of the band’s most joyous and accessible recordings.February 12, 2018 at 4:04 pm #495337“Till the Morning Comes” has always been one of my more favored ‘Dead’ tunes. Come to think of it, yeah they were indeed starting to shape that signature harmony.
I dunno, but whatever it is, it puts a livelier step into my day whenever I hear it! Thanks guys!
