LATEST UPDATE 6/25 Soundgarden 2 pack

    GUITAR: naginalJJ/Cheesecake Militia

“Searching With My Good Eye Closed” pointed towards the stylistic expansion that would come with its follow-up Superunknown. Though not devoid of the aggression that characterizes much of Badmotorfinger, “Searching With My Good Eye Closed” leans towards psychedelia. Cornell’s verse melodies are spacey, mantra-like, but anchored by the rumble of Shepherd’s bass, which is particularly massive in the first verse, before Thayil starts adding riffs over it. Though it can be hard to discern meanings from Cornell’s lyrics sometimes, “Searching With My Good Eye Closed” also feels like a thematic centerpiece to Badmotorfinger. “Is it to the sky, is it to the sky?/ Looking to the sky and down/ Searching for a ground/ With my good eye closed,” Cornell sings in the chorus, summing up a sense of disillusionment, anger, or confusion with the outside world that his lyrics seem to grapple with throughout Badmotorfinger. What might have passed as revery in the verses soon gets torn asunder, Cornell’s increasingly desperate repetitions of “Is it to the sky?” growing into an outro of screamed questions and gnarled guitar solos from all sides, reminding you that there’s little solace to be found on Badmotorfinger.

    GUITAR: naginalJJ/Cheesecake Militia

“Holy Water,” with its monstrously haunting Sabbath inspired signature bass and guitar line, stands as one of Soundgarden’s irrepressible classics. Cornell’s dizzying splashes of deep soul emotion, from devilish growl to ghostlike scream, turns the song into an electric nightmare, so fascinating that one cannot help but listen. Its melancholic spirit defines the brilliantly cohesive statement established with the creation of Badmotorfinger. Soundgarden cut straight to the soul and their aural assault was certainly not for the faint of heart.

I like your customs, but it’s always a challenge trying to load them because sometimes you don’t use an author ID and they end up with ID’s like 1000000524 which conflict with a lot of the early C3 songs.

I’ve been meaning to fix the conflicts. So far it looks like 15 that are that way. I’ll update ASAP.

LATEST UPDATE 6/30 Chris Cornell 2 pack

    GUITAR: Bansheeflyer

“Pushin Forward Back” is a song by the American rock band Temple of the Dog. Featuring lyrics written by vocalist Chris Cornell and music co-written by bassist Jeff Ament and guitarist Stone Gossard, “Pushin Forward Back” was released in 1991 as the third single from the band’s sole studio album, Temple of the Dog (1991).

    GUITAR/REDUCTIONS: Cheesecake Militia

    VOCALS: Colonel 32dll

Ben Shepherd’s “Somewhere” doesn’t quite disclose itself as a love song, the sense of romance is undeniable in lines like “From the likes of her/To the time of me/Like the moon to earth/Or the sky to sea./Only we’re no longer/Allowed to be.”

All right y’all I have a 4th of July 2 pack that will either come out the day of or the day before. Let me know what you think. As for the tunes one should be obvious based on my recent activity but the 2nd is my first full band from a legendary artists sophomore album. And…………..go!

Ooooooohh super pumped for the “obvious” one. One of my favorites of theirs. We’re pretty close to completing the album at this point!

I am also hype for the obvious one. But I am mostly awful at hints so can’t work out the second.

Big yes for more Temple Of The Dog too!

I guess more info is needed for the hint. This sophomore album is from 1973. His 3rd album would be the actual breakthrough 2 years later.
