“It Ain’t No Use” finds Stevie addressing a former lover as the two come to grips with the fact that their relationship has ended. Musically, it’s a moderate paced ballad that makes good use of backing vocalists Minnie Ripertonm and Denise Williams.

This is a medley of Big Swifty and Waka Jawaka title track. “Big Swifty” is one of the jazziest tunes Frank Zappa ever wrote. The head is a highly complex and tightly written melody. It includes figures in 3:2 (three against two) and even some 7:2.
The title track from the 1972 LP Waka/Jawaka is a gorgeous instrumental piece. More extensively orchestrated than the jazzy “Big Swifty,” it features numerous trumpet overdubs. The piece is driven by a strong, uplifting, easy-to-remember melody which builds up, recedes to make room for solos, and comes back modified into a heavy half-tempo variation for the finale, replete with tubular bells.

“I Was Made to Love Her” is a hit single released in 1967. The song was written by Wonder, his mother Lula Mae Hardaway, Sylvia Moy and producer Henry Cosby and included on Wonder’s 1967 album I Was Made to Love Her. It peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Pop Singles chart in July 1967.

“Isn’t She Lovely” is a Non-Us single from his 1976 album Songs in the Key of Life. In it he celebrates the birth of his daughter, Aisha. The song, musically constructed over basic chord changes, is considered an example of the fusion of fundamental jazz and pop elements. Although the song was very popular and has received much radio airplay, it did not chart on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 because Stevie Wonder would not allow it to be released as a 45 RPM single despite being asked to do so by Motown. The song did make the Billboard Adult Contemporary charts as an “album cut”, entering the AC Top 40 on January 8, 1977, staying there for five weeks and peaking at #23.

The drums are boring as shit but I could not in good conscience do this project without including this classic <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
