One comment on Genesis “One for the Vine” is the vocals, every word starts with a capital letter, making it really hard to read and is confusing.

thanks for letting me know. Sometimes I merely convert vocals done by a collaborator and I didn’t realize this was hampering the experience. In the future I’ll be sure eliminate that from the lyrics if it comes up again.

You probably already know, there are 2 CAT functions to easily fix this.

LATEST UPDATE 12/3 – Chicago 18 pack released!

        Chicago18_SMALL.jpg

Here is my pack for Chicago 18 released in 1986. It was the first release following the departure of Peter Cetera and the last album produced by David Foster. Bassist Jason Scheff would replace Cetera on the high vocals.

Credits listed below. Also thanks to my friend Masayuki Funatsu for creating a great image for this pack.

“Niagara Falls” is the fourth single released from Chicago 18 reaching #91 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart. Lead vocals were shared by Jason Scheff and Bill Champlin. When writing the song, the band misspelled “Niagara” as “Niagra”; this mistake can be seen in the music video’s title and most likely on the album, as Warner Bros. Records and Chicago never corrected it.

If you’ve been paying attention to the 80’s output I’ve released you’ll notice an absence of keyboardist Robert Lamm who was such an integral part of the bands early success. His role would be diminished throughout the 70’s and by the 80’s he was a sideman in his own band contributing less and less to the songwriting. Forever is reminder of his greatness. The lyrics acknowledge the rising divorce rates in society and being hopeful that he won’t end up that way. It concludes with the most prominent sax part in a Chicago song since 1976’s Once or Twice. I was sad to learn that founding member Walt Parazaider did not do this part. Instead a session who also played sax in the 80’s hit “St. Elmo’s Fire”.

“If She Would Have Been Faithful… ” is a song written by Steve Kipner and Randy Goodrum with Jason Scheff singing lead vocals. It was the third single released reaching #17 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. The lyrics deal with being thankful that your ex cheated on you which allowed the subject to meet the love of their life.

This is an upbeat rocker written and sung by Bill Champlin. Vocalist will enjoy the soulful performance.

“Will You Still Love Me?” was the second single released from Chicago 18 reaching number three on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in early 1987. The song was Chicago’s first top ten hit following the departure of Peter Cetera, and it featured new singer and bassist Jason Scheff on lead vocals.

It’s so cool that you are doing the entire discography. My husband loves the 70’s Chicago and now you are getting into the 80’s Chicago that I enjoy!

This is a tremendous undertaking, I am truly in AWE of you and everyone working on this project.

Thanks a bunch from both of us! :excited:

How to make Chicago album art:

          1. Get the Chicago logo

          2. Get a artistic quilt design

          3. Combine

          4. Profit!

Thanks a lot for this release. This is one of four Chicago albums I own (the others being 17, 21, and a greatest hits from ’82-89).

This was my intention when I started almost 2 years ago. To bring the 2 camps together and to let people realize they are one of the greatest band of all time. So glad you are enjoying this project. It’s far from over but I only have a small stocking sized 80’s release left. The rest will be going back and filling the gaps of the early catalog. I can’t thanks all my collaborators enough for filling in where I can’t. I couldn’t have done it without all of you!

This song never made it’s way onto a studio recording but was performed live on and off since it’s debut in 1973. This performance was done in 1988 by his final touring band. The arrangement is much tighter than the more free flow jamming of it’s initial performance in the early 70’s. Drummer Chad Wackerman turns in a great performance.

Thanks alot for the Chicago pack! Even though it hurts my soul to hear Chicago without Cetera, these songs do have their place. Congrats on the release!

Both were never the same without eachother but Chicago made some great songs in the “post Cetera era”. Say that 3 times fast!

You’re welcome. I think when all is said and done Chicago will have the most songs by one artist in the game. Not too shabby.

P.S. This will be the final album pack. I like a couple songs from the albums after this but there won’t be much more going forward in the catalog. This project will conclude with releases of the epic songs as well as some older gems I didn’t have time for earlier.

I just wanted you to know that anytime we fire up RB3, something from Chicago is always included in the setlist.
This project keeps giving us lots of enjoyment! Thanks a ton for all of it man! <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

LATEST UPDATE 12/10 – Frank Zappa – Keep it Greasey

                    Video Preview

                    GUITAR/BASS: nsw1-6

“Keep It Greasey” t takes the form of an upbeat funk tune driven by a jumpy rhythm section with time signatures varying between 4/4, 19/16 and 21/16. A fun thing to play live, it became part of Zappa’s set in August 1978 and was regularly performed for ten years. On the album version it was augmented by a lengthy outro instrumental solo section in 19/16. The guitar solo, one of Zappa’s strangest, was taken from an unrelated live song and pasted in this one (a process he called xenochrony). So the interaction between soloist and band never actually happened.

Thanks for all the work and great songs you and others have shared with us. Any chance you are going to chart Joe’s Garage from Zappa? My brother introduced me to Zappa with that song.
