Belated Happy 311 Day!
(Initial plan was to start this thread on 311 Day, well… ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” /> )
This thread is dedicated to one of my favorite bands – 311!
I will update this thread every one or two weeks (usually sundays) with new songs, fixes, etc.
You can expect like 60+ full band* (*except VOX/HARM ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” /> ) 311 songs in this thread, so keep excited!
If you want to contribute VOX/HARM, please send me a message! This would make me, John-311 and others really happy! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Thanks to John-311 for keeping me motivated (and sending me the “311 Hero” charts; you’ll get all those songs as Full Band customs!). This thread is mostly dedicated to you (and this awesome guy on YouTube that freaks out on every preview video ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” /> ).
Also, thanks to “hockey2112” (the guy behind “311 Hero”) – you have done a great job with your charts, I use them as a base. Even though I heavily modified them, some parts are really accurate and it is much better than charting the Guitar from scratch. Since 311 Hero (custom GH2 version) doesn’t feature Drums and Bass, I had to chart them from scratch.
Oh, thanks C3 for making this entire community possible by providing all those awesome tools!
Feel free to give feedback, especially if you are playing on lower difficulties than Expert, so I can try improve the reductions.
Tl;dr – 60+ 311 songs; bi-/weekly updates; thanks to hockey2112, John-311 (and his friend Alex), the guy on YouTube, C3 and you!

March 22, 2015 at 11:52 pm #441173Great band choice! I was considering charting their version of Lovesong but I’ll leave that to you (I hope).
Good luck with your task. 60+, holy crap!
March 22, 2015 at 11:57 pm #441174Glad to see you share these. Will wait for “Homebrew” to come out as it was my first 311 song I heard way back on MTV back in like 1994. Hoping for your NOFX eventually as well ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” /> .
March 23, 2015 at 12:21 am #441176Holy cow, this is great. I’m not a 311 superfan, by any stretch, but I really like a lot of their stuff, and they seem like they’d be a LOT of fun to drum.
How far (if at all) down the road are these:
Do You Right
Flowing
Transistor
You Wouldn’t Believe
Guns (Are for Pussies)
I’ll Be Here a While
Those would be my most wanted.
Can’t wait!
March 23, 2015 at 12:27 am #441177Thanks BobQuentok for getting this thread up and for all of the work you’ve done so far! I’m fortunate that I have a local friend that was cool enough to help out with vocals on All Mixed Up but he’s not a big 311 fan. I had to correct him on which part was Nick and which part was SA while we were testing it. He said he was willing to do more vocal charting but if anyone in the C3 community would like to help that would be amazing. I should probably take the plunge and learn how to do vocals/customs myself eventually.
I got lucky that I happened to talk to the guy behind the 311 Hero project. He was kind enough to send me the charts. There are 66 songs from that including all of Music and most of Soundsystem. Anyway, congrats on this thread!

Lovesong is already mapped and has guitar and drums charted. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

I guess I will share my charted NOFX customs soon.

All of them are already mapped and some of them have a few charts (guitar and drums). ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
And yeah, the drums are awesome. Chad is a beast! Check the drum solos on Applied Science and Existential Hero out!

If Alex is willing to chart more vocals, why not? ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” /> He should take a look at the method of converting Guitar Pro tabs to get a midi of vocals.
I added some songs to Grassroots, so this will be mostly complete too. Stereolithic will be fully charted (except the Bonus Track I guess… ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />)
Thanks guys!
March 23, 2015 at 12:34 am #441180Yes, “All Mixed Up” was a must have. Are you working on “Sunset in July”?
March 23, 2015 at 12:35 am #441181Yes, “All Mixed Up” was a must have. Are you working on “Sunset in July”?Yup! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” /> Already mapped and drums charted.
March 23, 2015 at 12:50 am #441182Holy shit once these start getting vocals (hopefully) added to them I’ll be all over them
March 23, 2015 at 2:31 am #441184Very fun on all instruments. I play expert, breakneck speed for all songs and expert pro drums and had a blast with me and my friends. 311 rockband has been a dream that is slowly coming true! Thank you to everyone making this possible!
March 24, 2015 at 12:16 am #441215Hey im not sure if its me or my kit but count me in wouldnt respond to certain kicks and note hits. Not a lot, just a few. Same for from chaos. Other than that everything seems to flow nicely and ive been playing like crazy haha thanks again bob cant wait for more!

Hm…
March 24, 2015 at 4:43 pm #441251I got four comments for ya:
1) Glad to see someone putting in effort in something as minor as the Visualizer image with your customized template. Not bad.
2) I only watched the preview for the first song…was breakneck speed on? Is that on purpose? The charts seemed to be coming way faster than they sound, so I’m curious as to why breakneck speed is used for the video if that’s the case.
3) Holy mother of signature image you got going on. Have you checked how it would look horizontally? ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
4) Good on ya for taking on such a massive project. I don’t think besides The Beatles that I like a band enough to do so much work on their songs alone, and I don’t think I would have even done it for The Beatles if I had to chart them from scratch. That’s impressive.
March 24, 2015 at 5:31 pm #441253Awesome project, thanks! I am getting All Mixed Up and will happily download Lovesong, and Don’t Tread on Me when they are released. Fingers crossed those get vocals too!

Haha. Why not use a feature (Visualizer skins, if it’s implemented? ^^
The first thing I do in RB3 is to enable breakneck speed… ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” /> Won’t do it again.
Oh, I need to recalibrate my RB. Carried my Xbox over to some friends and was simply too lazy to recalibrate it. ^^
Thanks again! Even if I use 311 Hero charts for guitar as a base, I often end up recharting an entire part.
But I really love 311, it’s so much fun on every instrument (Vocals as well I guess), they’re just perfect for Rock Band.
Awesome project, thanks! I am getting All Mixed Up and will happily download Lovesong, and Don’t Tread on Me when they are released. Fingers crossed those get vocals too!Thank you! Maybe check out the other songs as well (or take a look at the preview videos), they’re really fun to play.
