This is the second year of our TOP 100 ROCK OUT!
It was prompted by the end of DLC last year, in April, and we wanted to celebrate. This year it is May 3. We start at around 3pm, break for burgers on the grill around 8pm, and will probably finish up around 3am Sunday morning.
Last year it was top 100 DLC only. This year we have changed it up a bit.
We figured out the number of each genre we have, grouped them together, found out the percentage that genre takes up in the total library, and gave it the representative number of songs out of 100. That number determines the number of songs each member of the band can pick, and you then score the songs you picked with the max being the number of songs the genre takes up of the setlist, and lowest being 1. (example, 5 country songs in the set – you pick 5 songs, and your favorite you score a 5, second favorite receives a 4, and so on).
We then add everyone’s score and take the top number of songs that match the number allowed in the set for the given genre. We then sort the song list based on the scores. Top scores of the genre are played last.
We have 30 customs, 18 alt/punk, 15 classic rock, 14 rock, 8 pop-rock/other, 5 country, 5 metal, 5 southern rock/blues.
Don’t know why anyone would care, but I thought I’d share anyways.

April 29, 2014 at 6:12 pm #419105AnonymousI am disappointed there is no “Sweet Home Alabama” for the Southern Rock section… I really have no idea how that song wouldn’t be one to be representing Southern Rock as it seems to be the most famous Southern Rock song.
April 29, 2014 at 8:16 pm #419114At some point, you gotta say enough is enough with that song – it didn’t even receive a vote.
Everyone has heard it a thousand times, 990 of which weren’t by choice.
I love Skynyrd, too!
April 29, 2014 at 11:53 pm #419132Sounds awesome! Have fun.

May 4, 2014 at 4:16 pm #419457I just noticed Night Prowler was on there. Super cool. I wish the people I play with had the guts to play more than a dozen or so songs at a time.
May 4, 2014 at 5:23 pm #419461Night Prowler was our number 1 voted custom.
