farottone brings us our new tracks this week, a 4-pack from new wave darlings Culture Club. Culture Club were/are a British band whose first two albums helped define early ’80s rock music. Odds are good that you’ve heard “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me”, which was official RB DLC in 2011, and “Karma Chameleon”, which was #1 in the US for three straight weeks. The latter song’s album, Colour by Numbers, is the band’s biggest record, and this week we’ve got four of its hit singles. “It’s a Miracle” is fairly poppy, and a remix was featured in Dance Dance Revolution, if any of you remember that. “Church of the Poison Mind” prominently features backing vocalist Helen Terry, and was #2 on the charts behind David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance”. “Miss Me Blind” has a nice disco beat on drums and references the band’s first album in its lyrics, and “Victims” closes us out with a much more soulful ballad-y pace. Just a reminder: you need to crossdress into your best Boy George impression to enjoy these songs properly.
The rest of our songs this week are a mix of GHtoRB3 songs (that somehow escaped our initial support for their back catalog) and FtV releases of several TrojanNemo conversions!

  • Band of Horses – “Cigarettes, Wedding Bands”: This GH5 song has a new keys stem and adjusted audio levels from its original GHtoRB3 release.
  • Bloc Party – “Helicopter”: This TrojanNemo port from GH3 maintains the GH3 stems (guitar, rhythm guitar, and “everything else”), but otherwise is vastly improved from its original release: Lots of chart fixes, vocal harmonies, and better versions of the stems we do have. This song features the rhythm guitar mapped to Keys.
  • Filter – “Take a Picture”: This Band Hero track has a new keys stem and adjusted audio levels from its original GHtoRB3 release.
  • Foo Fighters – “No Way Back”: DAVE GROHL BAND! This GH:WoR port by TrojanNemo also features major changes to charts and Overdrive, new harmonies, and a new vocals stem.
  • Lenny Kravitz – “Fly Away”: This song from GH5 DLC has adjusted audio levels from its original GHtoRB3 release.
  • Linkin Park – “Burning in the Skies”: This GH:WoR DLC track has a new keys stem, adjusted audio levels, and new animations from its original GHtoRB3 release.
  • Linkin Park – “Wretches and Kings”: Same situation.
  • Ramones – “Theme from Spiderman”: This TrojanNemo release of a GH5 song has new stems, chart fixes, new vocal harmonies, and new Pro G/B courtesy of columbo777!

  1. Great week. Special thanks for re-doing spiderman!!! I had been playing it, but hard drums were a bit too much for me (seemed same as expert), hopefully hard will be a bit easier now 😉

  2. Side note now that I’m playing the song again for the first time in a while. I hope one day we see the REAL version of “Take a Picture” in a rhythm game instead of whatever version Guitar Hero got.
I don’t know if it’s live, or a demo, or what, but to me it’s kind of like the version of “Last Resort” we got in Rock Band. Sounds like the song, but it’s just not the same.
