April 19, 2013 – Led Zeppelin 6-pack plus "Stairway", 4 new customs, 3 new GHtoRB3 songs, and 185(!) GHtoRB3 back catalog songs!
New! Led Zeppelin 6-pack (farottone)
Rock Band released a lot of DLC. 280 weeks’ worth, in fact. Communities rose and fell, a new President was elected in the United States, and the world changed…but fans’ requests for several bands never came to fruition. We got The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses (well, kind of), The Who, and dozens more of rock and roll’s greatest bands, but several names were always conspicuously absent. Last week we brought you Pink Floyd’s “Time”, and this week marks something many of you have been waiting for since 2007: a brand-new Led Zeppelin 6-pack by C3 author farottone, and the first release of our “From the Vault” series, “Stairway to Heaven”!
Oh, yes. Things are officially real up in this project.
The pack begins with “Communication Breakdown” and “Good Times Bad Times”, singles from 1969’s 8x-platinum Led Zeppelin, from which we also get “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You”. Led Zeppelin III adds “Immigrant Song”, a classic rock staple; but “Black Dog” from Led Zeppelin IV, heralded as one of the greatest rock albums of all time, competes for the title of “most recognizable song in the pack”. The final song, too, is a contender there: “Kashmir”, from 1975’s Physical Graffiti.
Additional authoring credits: Guitar and bass for Black Dog are based on the work of charter IvanMQ1. Guitar, bass, and drums for other songs are based on the work of charter narutostarwars123456.
New! Radiohead – “High and Dry” (GHtoRB3)
While it’s no “OK Computer” full-album release, “High and Dry” from Radiohead’s 1995 album The Bends gives you a choice that’s not “Creep” or “My Iron Lung”. Seriously, people at every Rock Band and karaoke event ever: Please stop picking “Creep”.

New! Run-D.M.C. – “It’s Tricky” (GHtoRB3)
In the famous earworm “It’s Tricky” from their triple-platinum album Raising Hell, Jam Master Jay, D.M.C, and Rev. Run answer some eternal questions about the difficulty of rhyming in a timely fashion.
New! Alkaline Trio – “Mercy Me” (GHtoRB3)
Adding a little more variety to this week’s massive release is Alkaline Trio’s “Mercy Me”, from their 2005 album Crimson. Alkaline Trio are a 3-piece outfit (surprised?) from Illinois, whose music is…punk? Emo? Alternative? We’ll let you argue about it.
New! The Bravery – “An Honest Mistake” (GHtoRB3)
This week’s brand-new releases are closed out with “An Honest Mistake”, from The Bravery’s self-titled 2005 album. Rock out to a song-long disco beat on drums, an ’80s-tastic keys part, or do up your hair and try to match Sam Endicott’s unique vocals.
New! Conversion: Street Sweeper Social Club – “100 Little Curses” (GHtoRB3)
Joining us from GH5 DLC is “100 Little Curses”, from SSSC’s 2008 self-titled album. This release is the second SSSC song to be ported over from GH5 DLC; “Fight! Smash! Win!” was added to the GHtoRB3 library last week.
New! Conversion: The Eagles – “Life in the Fast Lane” (GHtoRB3)
From GH:WT DLC we get The Eagles’ famous “Life in the Fast Lane”, joining “Hotel California” to give us two songs from a highly-requested band that never made it to Rock Band.
New! Conversion: Smashing Pumpkins – “Bullet with Butterfly Wings” (GHtoRB3)
And, finally, GH5’s on-disc songs bring us “Bullet with Butterfly Wings”, the well-known Smashing Pumpkins song (a.k.a. “Despite All My Rage”). Trivia: This song made a brief appearance in RBN as a legitimate upload before the record label decided RBN was for suckers. “Bullet” joins Smashing Pumpkins’ “1979”, “G.L.O.W.”, and “The Everlasting Gaze” in our GHtoRB3 library.
From the Vault: Led Zeppelin – “Stairway to Heaven” (TrojanNemo/others)
No Zeppelin week would be complete without this one. “Stairway to Heaven”, from Led Zeppelin IV, is considered by many to be one of the greatest rock songs of all time. It’s “Stairway”, guys. Enough said.

What is “From the Vault”? People have been releasing Rock Band custom songs for years; the CCC project is just an attempt to collect the best ones in one place. We want to get as many new customs out there as we can, but but we don’t want to ignore what came before us, either. Customs released before April 2013 will be revisited and re-released here on the blog under the From the Vault moniker.
From the Vault: The Entire GHtoRB3 Back Catalog (GHtoRB3)
You read that right! Today we’re adding every GHtoRB3 song ever released to our song database. If that doesn’t sound like a big deal, consider that GHtoRB3 released 185 non-RB songs before CCC got going, and all of them are now in our database. Hot damn!
The mind-bogglingly huge list of songs is listed below. (Note that these songs won’t appear in our database’s “release date” sort, because there’s so freaking many of them. Please sort by artist or song title to browse this huge selection of GH songs.)

This is awesome!
SO incredibly EPIC! If Harmonix had managed to pull off the official releases like this, they’d still be raking in the dough! Thank you guys!
Incredibly awesome !
OMFG *___*
You can’t imagine how grateful I am for that Led Zeppelin, guys…
Awesome. Best week of DLC in years.
It’s been a long time since I rock & rolled!
EPICCCC
Thank whoever edited actual endings into the LZ songs instead of fade outs! This is a fantastic project that I wish nothing but the best for! Are there any official authoring groups I could buy songs from to show my support?
Support Rock Band Network authors. While we’re interesting in keeping content coming as best we can, they’re the ones that are actively working (and the bands they work with are the ones actively interested) in putting content officially into the game.
Whenever you’d think about donating to us or trying to support us, buy an RBN song.
I ALWAYS edit my songs, no fade outs for you! 😀 Thanks to Nyx though for pointing out a method to get better results so you don’t all feel like the rug has been pulled from under your feet when the song ends. 🙂
Awesome, thanks. Exxucus: They won’t be selling songs.. at least I hope not. That opens them up to a ridiculous amount of lawsuits.
Pretty good… but I need to know… who is working on all that Soundgarden DLC? (My Wave, specifically.)
