Ive mentioned this in threads before, Ive mentioned this in passing words, but believe me Im only going to ask a simple question, I refuse to link to it on this site simply because I love being on here & I certainly would NOT want to get banned, Im also hoping me mentioning it wont result in that.
Now that I got that out of the way, how do you guys feel about certain authors on here, frets on fire & Xbox360Iso recharting RB4 songs & reposting & resharing deleted customs?
I can ultimately say that from a players perspective its awesome because I missed out on so many songs & or so many times I wish I had a song from RB4 with everything else, but from a realists perspective… its not right on so many different levels. Its wrong because they often times never mention the original author or if they do they dont contact said author to make sure its at least okay to post it on a different forum. This isnt a free pass to go raid the forums but just know that Im sure everyone on here already knows about them or the whereabouts of them. I understand EXACTLY why those songs were deleted off of here & if you dont know why then you should probably read the forum rules.

Oh not at all. Im just trying to get people aware that hey, maybe yall should make sure people arent doing things with the content that probably shouldnt be shared. Has nothing to do with me trying to be that person & getting into a topic that is going to pretty much get me banned. I refuse to talk about this topic further. It just bothers me that if you guys really had a problem with it youd be more alert instead of on here. Theyre essentially taking away from RB4 & away from great creators who make it a point to take down Harmonixs content. Im just trying to make sure that it doesnt start happening more on here. It pretty much has to be said which if it has before thats fine, but from here on out Im hoping people will see this thread or the other thread & think twice before trying to ask or trying to post about getting that specific content.

Its become such a trend in fact that I feel bad myself that it takes away from those on here, especially the moderators who try to prevent that type of thing from happening. Although its another site or 2 sites entirely its still originally content from here & those who actually made the charts originally should have a say in who reuploads their charts to begin with.

Unless I’m mistaken, there’s no legal team here, so what others do is on them. Unfortunately, it’s going against the principles established here and it sucks. However, drawing attention to it is doing the opposite of what you’re saying you’re trying to achieve. Those that hadn’t a clue now have a clue. So I’d discuss this in private chats with those that perhaps could do something (though I have no idea what) so that exposure stays to a minimum.

I appreciate you taking the time to politely respond about this situation. It just bothers me so much, I liked it at first because who wouldnt, but now its getting to the alright you posted this content in like several topic forums we get it you have deleted content, but I refuse to link to it because I dont want to get banned. Youre probably right about glorifying it, & thats not what my intentions were at all & if thats how I made it seem I apologize. If that were the case I could have linked to it & got banned but Im not that dumb although I was that dumb when I first started on this site.
The best thing you can do to help in preventing piracy is to stop talking about how much you are not doing piracy but you totally could because people are doing it on this other website but not you because you only do the right thing and people reading this shouldn’t do it either but you’re telling them that it is going so they know what not to do.
Just stop, ok? This entire thread is ridiculous. You’re not an admin or a moderator. Do your thing and just stop trying to police the forums.
