Some Customs Missing from Database that are not RB4 DLC (yet).

I understand that customs will be removed when songs become DLC for RB4. But I dont understand why La Bamba and Im Gonna Be (500 Miles) were removed before theyve been officially announced or released. I know they were customs at a point, but we should be able to download them before they are delisted from this site. Could they be unhidden from the database until they’ve been officially released?
The reason we pull songs is simple: if you want to be play a Rock Band song that’s official, you need to buy it in the Rock Band game it’s avaiable for. We pull songs as soon as we are aware that will be official because once we know they’re available, that’s where you should get them. You only need to wait a week to get them anyway

There already is a grace period. It’s the time that elapses between a custom’s release, and it’s repeal.
If you want it, or you think you might want it, that’s the time to get it.
Right, and I usually go check 10 AM EST on Tuesday Morning for official DLC announcements. This is a special scenario where it was leaked ahead of that time, so there was no way to prepare for it. All I’m saying is that there should be time to get it before it’s downloadable on RB4 at least. I already had these songs thankfully, but there are probably some users that didn’t get that luxury.
or novel idea visit here daily see what new has been posted dl it then . ya decide ya dont want the song down the road shove it on a backup drive or delete it. why wait 6 weeks down the road to hunt a song and bitch about it. hmx wants come first cause without thier game your home banging on pots with your friends to carry a tune

Unfortunately that’s the risk when it comes to creating content for a game that has a lot of legal repercussions should we step on their toes. We have to avoid it. As mentioned, there’s plenty of time to obtain them. If you missed it, I hate to say it, but too bad. If the risk of legal action can be avoided, we take it. There’s literally thousands of other songs here, you’ll be able to manage without a couple.

I sympathize with you, it sucks to find out you took too long to get a certain song. But them’s the rules

I don’t think you actually read the post you replied to.
” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”> And in fact, what you’re saying explains why we’re absolutely right in pulling content as soon as we are made aware it will be available in RB4: that behavior can only be explained by an interest in owning something that you can only get in RB4. If you’re interested in a song, you download it as soon as it’s available or as soon as you find out it’s been released. If you download it only if you know that it will be available for RB4, it can only mean you don’t care about the song as much as you care about the fact that you would need to pay for it.
