Hello, after using an midi file to make my first custom (you can call me al by Paul simon) i found that everything went wrong i have been struggling to figure out how to make customs for a while now and i would like to know if there is a video about making customs with an midi file that shows you how to chart in reaper, do the stuff you need to do in magma, and everything else in between.

ik this makes m look like a total noob (which i am) but i will get better someday

I would check out the tutorial for new authors here. It has a lot of helpful links. You can also look at the official RBN authoring docs

I may be mistaken, but I believe that someone also has Paul Simon’s ‘You Can Call Me Al’ in a WIP thread. But if you’re just using the midi as a learning and reference tool or making the song for your own use, I hope it goes smoothly for you. (you’re off to a better start than I am!)

But if you plan on sharing it with the community, it may be in everyone’s interest to get in touch with the other author, not only to see if you can collaborate and learn as you go, but also to avoid duplication of effort. Good Luck!
