I’m watching this tutorial for vocal charting, and it’s really helpful, but I still have a few questions.
1) How do I chart talkies? The tutorial only goes over pitched vocals.
2)) He uses Shift + L to import lyrics, but that shortcut is set to Show Lock Settings for me. I’ve installed the Official RBN Tools and everything, but there’s not even a shortcut for “Import lyrics for selected notes from file” at all!
I’m using 4.22 with RBN Tools installed on Windows 10.

The RBN docs are particularly helpful with that.

Ah yes, that’s what I needed. Thanks

I tried those. They just say to go into the Vocals MIDI editor and search the Actions list for “Import Lyrics”, which yields no results. Like I said, I seem to have no Import Lyrics action whatsoever, no matter which part of Reaper I’m in.

May 22, 2016 at 3:47 am #469116If I want a song charted on vocals is it frowned on just doing talkies even if the song is not talkies? I just want to be able to sing the song and I assume it’s easier to just do talkies. I have downloaded a few songs like that so that’s why I’m asking
May 22, 2016 at 4:13 am #469118That’s a common practice around here. It’s called “unpitched vocals”, and as long as the song is marked as having unpitched vocals in the database, it’s not frowned upon. You can still sing the correct pitches in game, just the scoring will be a little more forgiving.
