As we all know The Endless Setlist is the pinnacle of the “ultimate achievement” for the Rock Band series, not necessarily for difficulty, rather that it requires several hours of non-stop playing. I recently completed the one for LEGO Rock Band and will attempt the Rock Band 3 one soon.
It occurred to me that it’s impossible to complete on either guitar or keys (thank John Lennon for having the only song without guitar), so I’ll probably attempt it on bass (which means I’ll have to destroy my cartilage on “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver” again, yay). Good thing there’s no Endless Setlist for Green Day Rock Band as that would only be possible on vocals (seriously, why did they decide “Song of the Century” was a good idea?).
So without more parenthesis, what (if any…wait, dammit) endless setlists have you finished?
April 14, 2016 at 4:31 am #467056Back in the Rock Band 2 days I got the Bladder of Steel achievement, which entails finishing the Endless Setlist 2 without ever pausing or failing (if you never played RB2, setlists just went straight through to the next song without hitting green on the score screen). Many people play on a lower difficulty or pass the instrument to their friends to accomplish this, but I did it alone on expert guitar. I was terrified of failing out on Painkiller or Visions, which I had passed before but I wasn’t consistent at making it through.
To this date, it’s still one of my greatest moments in my entire time playing video games. I’ll admit I’m not fully deserving of the award’s title, though, since I took a bathroom break during Let There Be Rock.
April 14, 2016 at 6:54 am #467057I’ve done the endless setlist far more times than I should, back in RB2 days I had a full platinum band (platinum on every instrument) along with multiple platinum characters, I also 1000ed GSed the game twice and platinumed it on PS3
April 14, 2016 at 7:16 am #467059Never did the RB3 one as I wasn’t a big fan of the game’s setlist for the most part, but I did the first 2 games at least once each on guitar and drums. Never did get around to trying for the bladder of steel, though.
April 14, 2016 at 10:40 am #467071I did every endless setlist available in RB games, ‘cos there were achievements to unlock for that.
I remember the band endless setlist in RB1 because I did it alone on expert guitar + expert vocals lol. I only had trouble to sing Gimme Shelter that I failed three times or so. I also remember the one in RB2 because I had to do it twice: first time in expert guitar but I paused the game several times and lost at Chop Suey and thus did not unlock the Bladder of Steel Award cheevo. So I redid it in medium vocals, which was a piece of cake.
I have no memory about the RB3’s and LRB’s ones though, must have been easy lol.
But yes the RB2 one in particular was epic ‘cos all the impossible songs come after 6 hours of play.
So far I 1000Ged every Rock Band I own (which means every Rock Band available in Europe, which means I lack 4 track packs compared to US people) except LRB and its Final Coutdown solo, and RB3 where I’m still working on the last 3 pro-guitar achievements to go to 1250G.
April 14, 2016 at 10:56 am #467072As your signature shows you have 2112 achievements so don’t get any more. Ever. You have to stop now.
Sincerely,
An Overly-Devoted Rush Fan
April 14, 2016 at 2:17 pm #467082Ahah nice catch, I hadn’t noticed it.
But I might have you be sad in some hours.
April 14, 2016 at 3:19 pm #467087Haha that’s okay, I like getting my achievements too…though my Gamerscore is nowhere near as impressive as yours.
I doubt I’ll platinum any of the Rock Band games. It’s kinda hard to go back to an old game when you’ve been playing RB3 so long. Plus I’m not good enough on drums/don’t have enough people for some of those achievements.
