What does everyone use with theirs? What’s the best, easiest or most compatible to use for pro keys/drums? I have both the Xbox and PS3 MPA and I only use the pro guitar with it but I want to venture into an electric drum kit. My favorite instrument for RB3 is pro drums but I only have the PS3 set and it’s doing that I’ll unsync whenever I feel like it problem. Maybe in the future a keyboard would be nice as well. Rock Band is my favorite game and I play no real instruments besides fucking around with guitar in Rocksmith. Any input would be appreciated.

Any drumset with a MIDI brain capable of assigning specific MIDI notes to the pads and a MIDI OUT will do, essentially.

Use mine with my DTXpress IV

I was thinking about the ddrum beta it’s cheap said to work but drops notes? That’s not cool. I’m really lost when it comes to this but would it be possible to switch modules and use the kit and it would work fine? Or would it be the kit and the module would work fine?

As far as the midi pro adapter is concerned, it only translates the midi output of the drum brain module. Whether different pads can feed that module depends on the exact hardware that the module will support. You’ll have to research the specifics of the ones you are interested in to see what is compatible. As to whether it’s the brain or the pad that is handling hits poorly, could be either but it’s probably more about the module and its settings.

Yamaha DTX and Roland TD series seem to be good popular modules, personally I use a TD-11 but it was pricey.

Yeah well thx for the input guys every little bit helps. But personally I couldn’t play drums without an arm and a leg the more expensive kits are out of my range.

I use an old TD-9, which still costs quite a bit even though its obsolete.

I recently just got an Alesis DM10 set which works quite well imo. Definitely a bit more on the cheap side than some of the higher end Roland kits. No problems with dropped notes or anything as far as I can tell (after a few hours of messing with various settings that is :v: ). Not sure if this would fit into your price range, but overall I’m happy with my purchase so far after about 2 weeks with the set.

I was actually looking into that module. Good to know.

I’ve had the Alesis DM10 module ever since RB3 came out. Highly recommended!

So just reporting I’ve got a Yamaha Dtxpress III and it works great with both Xbox and PS3 MPAs.

Is it possible for me to hook up my Wii GH5 drum kit to the PS3 MIDI box and use that in RB3?

              #447390

I just recently purchased the Alesis DM10 pro studio kit & module. Which are great & a lot of fun with Rockband…..

I use the xbox media controller. It takes a little while to fiddle with the wheel on the controller to sync with game.

But works very well once you do.

No one talked about keys. I use a M-Audio Keystation 61es, probably sure any keyboard work, as long as your default notes inclues C3 to C5, or can change that if not.

Yes, your M-Audio keys will work. I use both an Axiom 25 and an Oxygen 49 with the MPA.
